Ended up letting me order it and this time i chose expedited shipping, and with the 512 it says this:

Delivers Jun 28 - Jul 6

I'm gonna give it a couple of days to make sure it doesn't go to august, if not, I'll cancel the 256

Edit: now it went to the probable more likely: Delivers Jul 25 - Aug 2

Totally unfounded conspiracy theory is that there is some major flaw that they are working on fixing via software update, and needed the extra time to get it out the door.

Doubtful. June is still technically part of the delivery window

Agree. Samsung has been using preorder information to gauge demand for years. I suspect that’s the real reason for the 2 month window. I’m sure Google doesn’t want a ton of extra inventory on its hands. As for the suggestion that demand may exceed expectations, that could go either way depending on what expectations were. I’m as big of a tech nerd as there is and I’m on the fence on this one. I’ve bought every Fold since release. $1799 for a first Gen google device is definitely a tough sell.

Someone asked support and they were told to go by the date on the email, check your emails on the order, and the most recent email should tell you, this is mine:

If the date changes for real, an email should be sent as well. The date in my email remains 27-28. My guess is there is a glitch or something, but chances are this is a non problem and we will all get it by day 1 or 2

Check this video here:

For those with foldables already, is your build in kickstand the ability to bend it at an angle, and watch content that way? With half the screen. Or did y'all find alternative kickstand options to use the full unfolded screen?

I bought this stand couple years ago.. I like how minimalist it is.

It is a shame, I was hoping that I might be able to catch a good play with it before my time comes, I ordered one but looking at the way things have panned out, it doesn't look like I will get to play with it before they come calling for me. Thats not to say that is set in stone, but my lack of appetite seems to be one of the indicators that I am moving to the next stage. It is a shame, the new phone will probably end up being about 5 days too late. I tonight wiped my s23 Ultra and will send it off to add to the money in my wife's account.

Obviously I don't know any of the details of what you're going through, but I've known a few people who had cancer recently, and loss of appetite was very normal, and they pulled through and are in remission now. Hoping the same fate happens for you, bud. Try to hold onto hope.

Checking out his brief review

Peak brightness is very important for outdoor use. Perhaps it's a setting or it didn't kick in when he used it. Reviews will clear this up.

That crease is way too visible IMO.

The fact that it doesn't fully open flat naturally is super weird.

I’m okay with it folding out for my use …when he placed it down it seemed good enough ….I will most likely have it on stand when not in hand..crease looks a little more obvious like Z Fold 2 which i previously owned…Pixel phones have always been low in auto brightness compared to other phones ..just the way Google dials it in …I’ve always gone manual with the brightness

This message kicked me right in the feels.

I hope you get everything you hope for, and you pull through for longer than anyone ever said you would. Keep the faith and I hope to see you with that Fold in your hands telling us how good it is.

the Duo 2 is still the only foldable that I would buy. No crease, screen issues etc. I am super anal about feeling a crease in the screens etc. Plus, I have seen so many folds and flips come into the store here with broken screens at the "fold".

If anyone here knows a Google rep (or is one themselves), see if there is anyway for Dave to get his hands on one sooner.
Unfortunately I don't know a rep. I tried their contact form in the Google store website but it's set up to deal with specific ordering issues for ones own purchase and kind of took me in circles and I don't know how to set about asking for help for a situation like this.

Wishing you all the best Dave!

I gotta say, I’ve been on MR for 20 years and my favorite threads are always the Samsung and Pixel ones! Such a good crew that seem to always join the chat. Hoping you can join for many years Dave. 🙏

I’ve never interacted with you Dave but you seem a nice guy and I wish you well. Take care and I hope you get your hands on a Pixel Fold
