Normally reviews drop a week before official launch for other phones. It is bizarre that reviews have not been released yet given the official launch date was 6/26 and the announcement was 6 weeks ago.
It is indeed weird. I'm hoping the embargo will be lifted today :/

Well this is interesting. After sitting on June 28-29 delivery date for a few days after the delivery date hopping all over, now I get this.

I did get the email that my order is processing. However any time I see the term "delayed" I get concerned a little bit.

Not a great sign for sure particularly since they’ve had 2 months to get these out the door.

I love Google products but sometimes they do things that make me scratch my head.

The fold getting into customers hands should be a big priority. On the other hand if they had a manufacturing issue and they are doing there due diligence to make sure the devices are perfect then I can understand.

Unfortunately history shows that most Google products have a high defect rate. So who knows what the issue is?

I am sorry for everyone who is waiting. I hate when pre orders get delayed.

I really wish Google would just partner with Samsung to build their devices. It might cost them a bit more and obviously Samsung is a competitor but they already produce so many components of their devices, they might as well go all the way.

If Samsung produced their phones and tablets it would most likely improve quality and have a more predictable production schedule.

Google is so happy with Samsung as a partner and they could always go back to whoever is making these devices now if it is too costly but even if it added 10% to production cost the return and failure rate would make up for it in the end and it would increase consumer confidence in the product IMHO.

It’s way too late to address a manufacturing issue. These are supposed to launch next week. So the logistics chain should basically be complete and these phones should be positioned in shipping warehouses around the country already. If they aren’t, then the delay could be a while. 2 days ago ATT launched their preorders with a 7/12 release. So something is definitely amiss.

I am talking about the future. It would be a good idea for next gen devices. Obviously nothing coming out this year would be changed as everything is already in motion.

But the Pixel fold 2 and Pixel 9 gen could be manufactured by Samsung and might improve the constant issues Pixel owners have gone through for years. Just a thought.

A foldable phone is a pretty complex device to manufacturer. The Pixel fold looks very well designed and I am sure Google doesn't want any issues upon release. It also could be higher demand than anticipated. They could be holding up production if there is a quality control problem or it could be they thought they could produce a certain number in a certain time frame and they might have been too optimistic. Who knows. I can't wait to see these in people's hands.

I personally will wait for a foldable phone for a while but I am very interested in hands on reviews by real people. If anything would push me to buy a foldable it is a Pixel.

Unless I get an email saying otherwise, I'm going to assume it's arriving on time. The first email always said 6/28-6/29 for me, never changed. And the last email said it was processing. The one thing that has never been able to be trusted is those dates on the stores, that have changed about 15 times now. So unless I get an email saying "we're sorry your fold is delayed and now coming in July, we apologize" I'm going to assume what shows on the store can't be trusted, and i still expect it to get here next week
