Well after letting the first adopters try out the device and seeing the reviews I decided that for a first generation Pixel foldable it isn't bad at all. I disregarded all the chatter on battery life, heat, weight, and etc. since that is personal problems. I ordered mine from AT&T and proudly say i have had no issues thus far with the Pixel Fold. I haven't had any issues with any Pixel device ever so i hope that trend continues.
The device is smooth and fluid with no stuttering or jank. It only got slightly warm on initial setup and hasn't gotten warm any after that. I don't run any social media apps on my phone except maybe reddit and everything else is like quality of life apps like banking, membership, store/shopping, and smart home/watch apps. My wife also got a Pixel fold and has finally ditched her iPhone 14 pro. For the first time i can remember since we have been married she has left her iPhone powered off and at home since she has started using the pixel fold. For her to tell me this is the best phone ever says that google needs to ramp up the marketing department and get the word out on their devices.
My battery life has been good and I make it through the day just fine. Would I like better battery life? Sure, but for a foldable with a large inner screen it's not bad at all.
The weight takes a little time to adjust to, especially since I came from an S23 (regular one) but it's not that bad at all..
I take 'reviewers' these days with a grain of salt. They are either praising the device like it's the greatest device ever made or they are slamming it over minor or non existent issues like the bezel.. There are very few objective reviews that meet in the middle and just tell it like it is.
I always do my own in hand reviews and decide for myself. You generally get 2 weeks to try it out so worse case is you might be out a restocking fee if it's not for you.
I love the device. The cover screen is IMO it's best feature. Unlike the Z Fold, the cover display on the Pixel Fold is 100% useable. My daily use is probably 90% on the cover display and 10% open in tablet mode.
Google nailed it with this device. Most of the minor issues it has can probably be hammed out via software updates and it will only get batter over time.
I've had my Porcelain since launch and am very, very happy with it.
