After skimming through this thread, I wonder if they just keep rotating the returned models between users :). Cant imagine how frustrating it must be to have to return a product 3 times for the same issue.

After two strached mbpro's (under speaker grill, right side) my third replacement (Week 54 build) is FLAWLESS...

My lottery ended with happiness, I wish the same all of you guys...

Third replacement is coming in tomorrow and I hope mines is flawless as well!

Random razor - do not listen to these appleheads that want to give apple a pass on poor quality control.
It took me 3 exchanges to get the one i kept , and love it.
Whe i put out my hard earned coin to buy something , it better be acceptable and in perfect working order.
If these clowns want to accept an inferior or defective product out of the box - let them.
So do not get discouraged and wait until one is acceptable to keep it .
Tim cook is laughing at these clowns with all the money apple has if they want to accept an inferior defective product.
Imlet my pocketbook do the talking and maybe if everyone returns there marginal or defective quality control blunders right out of the box , maybe it will send apple a message. I doubt it , but i will return until i get an acceptable product out of the box .
Took me 3 returns to accomplish and now happy .

Did you receive your replacement recently? I'm getting my third replacement tomorrow and I'm hoping everything is good!

Looks like the spelling and grammar quality control is dysfunctional; not really acceptable I would have thought. Send the MacBook Pro back for replacement, I reckon.

But then, each to their own priorities. As long as your machine looks pristine, you look and feel the business, which seems to be all for some.

Hello everyone, new Macrumours forum user over here.

Received my new MBP 15" with Radeon Pro 455 configuration yesterday. Today I'm recording an unboxing - I'm pretty nervous about this scratch thing.

Well, I'll see in a few hours!

Got my third replacement in today, still has the same scratch near the speaker grill and now it also has like a blemish mark on the right arrow key (straight line going diagonally).

Wow! 3 straight machines with the scratch? That's some terrible luck. I'm sorry. :(

I must have been one of the lucky ones. I initially had a 13" non-touch MBP which I exchanged for a 15" MBP. Then I exchanged that 15" for a 13" tMBP since I preferred the smaller size. I thoroughly checked each of the 3 computers for any of these scratches/blemishes immediately after unboxing and none of them had the issue or any other issues, for that matter. The 15" had a significantly more wobbly Touch ID/Power button but that was the extent of it.

Yeah, mines is a BTO so I can't really exchange it in the store. I'm for sure not keeping this replacement, but I'm not sure if I should give it another shot (seems like the 15-inch BTO are coming from the same factory, so it's a high chance it'll have the same one) or just invest in getting the base model (currently have the 2.7/512/460).

I already packed it back in the box. But the scratch was pretty much the same as my previous picture. Giving a replacement one more try if not I'll just settle for the base model in store.

Anecdotal info only, but I've had 3 15" models purchased at an Apple Store and all 3 had no scratches or marks of any kind. I returned the first 2 (2.7/512/455) because of uneven screens and kept the 3rd one (2.6/256/450). I think I remember someone on here saying that he saw 2016 models in the store with scratches but I don't remember the thread. Good luck on Friday. Hopefully the third time will be the charm for you.

what did u mean by uneven screens? like the color? or u mean the actual physical screen?

I checked the in store demo and couldn't find any and at least it would be easier to exchange it in the store rather than being computerless and waiting for a week and a half for a replacement.

Just the color. There was a pink to blue shift and one had a little yellow on the lower part of the screen as well. My current one has a slight color shift but not so much as to bother me.

Yeah So I got my THIRD replacement computer. i changed the specs on it from a 2.7 to a 2.9 just for luck, and it came today andddddd there is NO SCUFF under either speak griller. so thank the ****ing god for that.

that being said....its not perfect.....theres not one but two nicks on the hinge of the bezel. pic attached:
at this point...i dunno if i should try a 4th time. my concern i is i may get one that is worse. the only reason im even considering a 4th replacement is if i sell this 3 years down the road and a buyer notices that.

i have a moshi case, ivisor screen shield and keyboard cover coming in so protecting this is no problem lol

still cant believe this computer was over 3 grand

what do you guys think?

It's hard to tell from a picture, but the nicks look pretty small to me and if everything else is perfect (and it may take a few days or more to make that determination), I would keep it. If those are the only marks on your computer 3 years down the road, I don't think that will have any effect on resale. I understand your frustration with finding any flaw on your 4th computer however.

I'd say keep it! At least there's no scratches that you can see easily. You're allowed to change the specs for a replacement?

Thinking of ordering the moshi hard case as well, had it on my old MacBook and it kept it in pristine condition. I'm actually waiting for my replacement and my return was compeleted today. For some odd reason, it's showing ships in 1-2 weeks instead of 5-7 business days on the order page. I remember replacements are bumped up to the top, but let's hope it comes in earlier.

I think those are almost impossible to see and you should feel pretty good at this point. I hear you on the note about a potential resale, but really if everything else about the computer is in good shape I can't see a reasonable person making a big deal about that. You'll probably get bigger marks from putting it down on a table.

If you're within the return period it's an exchange for an upgraded model. I did it - just paid the difference between the two models.

Will it be shipped out the same time as a new order or will it be considered a replacement and be prioritized to the top? I'm actually thinking of downgrading the specs.
