Just received my 3rd replacement same scratch as yours. My other two were on the left side now I'm getting one on the right side lol. 2.7 512 460

I really don't want to wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement since mine is a BTO. This is quite annoying.

Another odd thing about the blemish on my MacBook is that you can't see it when light is shining on it directly. Not sure how bad it is for the other members.

I'm wondering if some disgruntled Chinese factory worker is putting these marks before it ships out lol.

Yea it is i usually just use it for just under the 14 day return window and then return it for the replacement takes about a week. When you walk into an apple store none of there display 15 have it so why should ours. I like to keep my MacBooks in perfect shape then resell and upgrade when the next newest one comes out.

Received the same spec as yours last Friday and no cosmetic flaw. Only issue I'm having is it's been making this soft clicking noise every minute or so (sometimes 30 secs). Not sure where it's coming from, since the HD is flash. I did update it to 10.12.3 right away, so I'm not sure if something from that update is causing it to make that noise.

Return that, don't even try to figure out where it's coming from.

This sound does get annoying, especially since I use my MacBook mostly in my room where it's quiet. Pretty much sounds like the Magic Mouse clicking but a little softer. Has anyone tried requesting a replacement while keeping the one you have now? & how does that work? It's been hard not having a computer for weeks switching out MacBooks.

I dunno about the space grey color thing, but if i guess its cool that its a two tone look lol. really ate the small usbc ports. i ahve to be super carefuly plugging these usbc cords in without fraying the aluminium around the port. and they take a bit of force to take in and out.

id ssay giv eur macbook a few days to see how the sound is. its not gonna hurt as u have 14 days so a few days wont hurt.

I thought about it and decided to return my 2.7/512GB/460. Placed a new order for a 2.7/1TB/460, hopefully this has no scratches.

Can't believe I'm doing this ****, I've never had to play the return and replace game with Apple. If you're paying $3000+ for a laptop, it shouldn't come with scratches right out of the box.

Same, this is my first Apple product that I had to exchange several times. I'm actually thinking of returning the one I got (since its been making that popping/clicking noise) to get the base model + 460 to save a few. I have the config you originally had, but I realize I don't store much in my MacBook Pro anyways. I wonder how long it would take to order that config.

Did you return the item in store or you did it through mail?

Still with me, going to return it tomorrow to the Apple Store. Good thing it's only a 5 min walk from my work.

Did you reformat your drive before returning it?

Yeah I normally do, turn off FileVault then restore using internet recovery.

Brought it into the Genius Bar & he brought it to the back. Suggested to do a replacement. It sucks cause this one was perfect (with no dents/chips/scratches). I ended up getting a refund, I think I'll just get me the base model + 460 since I barely keep anything on my MacBook.

So you returned it at the store and picking up a base model now?

Returned through mail, since the store couldn't do the return for a replacement in store. Still waiting to get the refund. Think I'll just go with base + 460. Debating if I should do 512GB, but I don't use much space to begin with.

I had to return my first MacBook due to a blemish below the right speaker grill. The second MacBook had no scratches but had a metal deformity above the right speaker grill. Returned that and now with my third replacement it is perfect.

2.9/1TB/460

And nicks on the edges? You can feel them with your finger.
