My data connections are just fine...

but tonight when I went into the app store, gray boxes appeared instead of app icons and pictures intermittently. In the status bar was the little scrolly wheel, as if the phone was STILL trying to download the app icons and preview images. It was about 50/50. 50 percent of pictures and app icons are showing, 50 percent are not.

Anyone see this? I'm on iPhone 6s, iOS 9.0.2.

Thank you,
Eric

I did notice that but it's just on one app in my update list (6s, 9.1 beta 4).

So, the pictures (app icon and the preview images)..some of them were just completely gray?...did your phone have the scroll wheel at the top as if it was still trying to download the pictures? Did it go away? did you do anything to fix it?

No scroll wheel, I tried restarting and that didn't work. Didn't try anything else because I wasn't really worried about it, the app updated fine and is working :)

yeah that's mine too...but it's a majority of the app. Tried restarting...not really sure what to do.

Happening to me as well. Tried tapping on updates tab 10x to reset AppStore but same issue. Seems to be happening to updates that are available from today only and onward.

Wonder if it has something to do with having Lirum Info Lite installed and it's no longer on the AppStore?

I've had this problem since 8.x. Some app icons in Updates tab are gray. The only way to make them load is to scroll fast up and down in Updates tab. It might be related to specific region's app store server. That's my only guess.
I reported it to Apple yesterday. Let's see.

Jeez I'm glad I'm not the only one...

Just to verify, is this what you guys are seeing?

I noticed this issue since yesterday! But now looks worse. Maybe the server are getting major overflow caused by the iPhone 6S. :D

did you happen to do any kind of restore or wipe of your device recently?

Same thing- started this afternoon on both of my devices.
iOS 9.0.2 iPhone 6s
iOS 9.1b4 iPad mini 2

are you able to confirm that this is still happening for you? Can you view the screenshots and let us know if it looks the same to you?

Yes- Still happening on both devices. But something odd is happening. The updates screen seems to be frozen in time with it's missing app artwork. But if I search for some app i've never seen before, I see some artwork, and some gray placeholders. And then, ever so slowly, the artwork is downloaded and the gray boxes are replaced by the real image. But when I say slow- I mean SLOW.

No amount of waiting on the Updates screen seems to help. The App store isn't requesting the artwork anymore. I guess that's a one-time thing.

thanks a lot for the reply. I appreciate it. Hoopefully this gets fixed soon.
I did report it to Apple chat...2 of them confirmed it's happening over there as well and that they would report it to the higher ups.

This has been a thing for months now, even in 8.x.x as well. Not sure why Apple hasn't done a thing about it but I'm sure they're busy fixing bugs in iOS with their beta releases right? lol smfh
