Does anyone have a link to the EXACT cards used in the OP's post? There are a million versions of the GTX 680 4GB and I'm confused to which one it is.

Here is one. It is a bit overpriced though. For some reason the price on these cards has been skyrocketing instead of falling.

No, that's not a 680.

There are a few alternative cards mentioned by other people in the thread that say they work. You might look those up for a better price than my link.

Thanks!

Unfortunately I discovered yesterday apparently there is no way to connect two Apple Cinema Displays to a 680 :/ (At least without a very expensive converter box that gets bad reviews).

I'll probably have to hold out and hope something comes down the pipe :/

Expensive, yes. I have no personal experience with them, but the reviews seem quite good actually.

Here is a PNY 680 4GB for $480. Not sure if it will flash or not, but every 4GB 680 that people have tried in this thread so far have worked. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=979318&is=REG&A=details&Q=

Do you really need 4GB? I didn't, but at the time I was buying, they were about the same price as the 2GB.

Thanks!

I actually just ended up ordering the k5000. If its not worth the cash I'll definitely look into this adapter, its the first one I saw that had good reviews.

I do a lot of texture painting and have heard the k5000 will increase viewport performance greatly so I hope thats the case (also maybe Houdini will finally play nice).

@Dr. Stealth Did you encountered randomly reboot in Windows after flash the rom to EVGA GTX680 FTW 4G? I originally thought it was due to power supply, but after using an extra PSU for powering the card, this problem still happens...

No... I use Windows 7 Pro x64 a lot via bootcamp, about 50% of the time. I've never had a reboot that I didn't initiate. My setup has been rock solid even with my cards overclocked to match 680 Classified speeds.

I'm using Windows 8 with EFI Boot. So it's might be some problem on Windows EFI Boot side... Will try to use legacy boot when i have time :) Anyway, Thanks a lot :)

Here ya go.... Exactly.

This is it..... I mean them.... :)

EVGA GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130794

Although the rom has been flashed successfully to many cards.

I just flashed my EVGA GTX680+ 4GB, works nicely too. Thank you very much for sharing the rom and posting the Kepler BIOS Tweaker info :)

I compared the boost tables this weekend. There are many differences. What does this table do?

Curious about this too. I briefly looked at the other tabs, but in the end decided against touching anything other than the stuff in the Common tab. I just got the card, so wasn't feeling too adventurous.

Just flashed the rom and got boot screens back. Amusingly, in nvidia inspector, the Interface went down from PCI-E 3.0 to 2 for the msi one. Thanks OP!

Just ran Luxmark Room and the results seem off. Got a 280 for the MSI GeForce GTX 680 4GB in bootcamp with windows 7. The ones I've seen posted seem to be higher. Is something up or am I mis-reading something?

Luxmark Scores and such....

Everyone here is quite welcome. It's nice to be able to give a bit back after 10 years of benefiting from MacRumors.

Your LUX score actually looks about spot on in relation to mine in Bootcamp Win 7 x64. I ran the test, in Bootcamp & Mac OS, with just one card enabled for reference. My clocks are a tad higher thus a bit higher score. My Mac scores with the identical settings are quite a bit higher for some reason but I have no idea why. I'm sure your's will be also.

PC = 295 Mac = 372

I threw in my Nvidia Inspector result for reference also.

I don't understand why you guys are using 680s when the 770 is a less expensive, faster, newer card. It's basically a slightly OC'd 680.

Because the 770s weren't out when I bought my 680s. Plus there is no EFI hybrid ROM for the 770. So if you want Apple boot screens use the 680s.

Besides the 680 is an awesome card and running two of them is double awesome. :D

I also bought a GTX 680 instead of GTX 770, but went through a different route, bought one (already flashed and tested on MP 5,1). I have had bad experiences with video cards in the past.

I was more concerned about heat and cost. I compared GTX 5xx, GTX 6xx and GTX 7xx series. GTX 680 is under 200 watts, runs cooler, and is cheaper online when compare to the GTX 7xx series cards (I mean already flashed and ready to use out of the box)

So I purchased GTX 680, but I also fully understand that heat and cost might not be of concerns to other users, that is just me;)
