Amazing work. :)

Have made a clean install of 10.8.3, installed with V0.2.2. Runs almost perfect.

However, I still have trouble with network share. I get the same error as in MLPostFactor V0.1.

Thought it was fixed in this release of MLPostFactor?

That was supposed to be fixed. We don't have such issues. Ill look into that

----------

sorry to ask, but in this part of the guide you mention 10.8.2.

Q&A For MLPostFactor! READ FIRST BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Read the BOLD one twice!

2. 4.37GB 10.8.2 Mountain Lion.app is REQUIRED to be in the Applications Folder.

thanks for the answer!

durh. I already said the guide is still updating. If you can just use your eyes you can see the change logs clearly stated 10.8.3 is supported.

Hey Hackerwayne. After going from 10.8 clean install to 10.8.3 combo update. Everything worked fine! Maybe a little (weird) hitch is after I went on 10.8 ML, copied the Install Mountain Lion.app to applications along with MLPostFactor.
Ran MLPostFactor in 10.8.3 mode (since I wanted to apply the combo update) and when I rebooted into Install partition, the "connect keyboard/mouse" kept flickering between both (no smooth transitions like normal installs).
It worked fine though once it picked up the Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard (just figured saying it as it's still a beta ;) ).

Seems to be working great for now!

A little hitch I'm still experiencing since the start when I tried ML on my late iMac 2006: iMessage keeps popping up with this error even after the sudo nvram terminal command (and before):

Your Apple ID "<my Apple ID>" can't be used to set up iMessage at this time.

Anyone got an idea for a hotfix for this? :)

Otherwise, I'll be testing this out for a while to replace my current Lion partition as it seems to be working faster (as long as there are no crashes, network errors and iSight works fine :D).

Thanks again!

EDIT: Another thing that seems weird but works fine: in Finder, the sidebar items in the preferences are all unchecked but work if I check/uncheck them (they just uncheck themselves again).

Actually heres the problem. When you install 10.8.0, you should select 10.8.0 option. Then after you're done, download the 10.8.3 combo, and then use disk utility to erase the "Install" partition. Put 10.8 Installer in Applications Folder, run MLpostFactor and select 10.8.3 & point it to the newly formatted "Install" partition. Reboot into Install and reapply MLPostFactor patch.

To simplify the process above, simply download 10.8.3.app to install. Its always gonna be buggy if you wanna use Combo Updates. Reason is simple, the method to hack 10.8.2< & 10.8.3 is different, so you might experience bugs.

For iMessage, it seems to us its still a hit or miss, really not sure why it worked for some users why it doesn't work for some. Did you use Migration Assistants? If you did, try without? Is your Apple ID a primary ID (associated to iCloud?) Have you setup iMessage in Lion before?

As for Finder, we didn't experience this issue at any stage, not even in V0.1. Have you tried to reboot?

Would be perfect if you find a solution. iMessages & iCloud work perfectly, missing just network share now. :)

Have tried to run MLPostFactor again from the "Install" partition, but unfortunately it makes no difference.

I'm on a Macbook 4,1 (Black - if it's make any difference)

Do you have a Broadcom or Atheros WiFi card? Top left Apple Logo > About This Mac > More Info > System Report

What i have to make to run this install, the version of the ML is 10.8.3. I was trying also with the 10.8.2 but have the same error.

Try to clean install 10.8.3. I think iCloud/iMessage/FaceTime issues will be resolved.

The LabelV thing down there tells me its missing frameworks. What OS are you on?

EDIT: Nevermind, the background tells me you're on Snow Leopard or Leopard. OSX Lion is now mandatory (to prevent Core Duo/ Core Solo users from accidentally installing it)

I have my original 10.8 Install app. Will the method in which you place the 10.8.3 Install ESD inside the 10.8 package work?

Sorry. For the extra question, I should have posted originally.

Since I am using the 10.8 installer app with the 10.8.3 ESD inside, does it matter which selection I make in MLpostfactor? 10.8>10.8.2 or 10.8.3

I selected 10.8.3 and all worked well.

I was having difficulty earlier. The sticking point in the instructions is after ML installation, must select the ML drive to update the patch, NOT Install drive.

Thanks again for all your hard work on helping us out!

Judging by the window traffic light buttons you must be on Leopard or Snow Leopard

Awesome, some issues

Hi hackerwayne and MLforALL,

Great job! I've been waiting for this version, and it works:

MacBook3,1 late 2007, 2.2C2D, 4GB, X3100
- iMessage works, no problem (had it working before on 10.7)
- FaceTime, no idea, have to try (using MacBook in clamshell with external monitor)
- iCloud, all works, calendars, bookmarks, notes, reminders, etc. Everything!

Only one (big) issue, still no network... So no connection with NAS, etc. But Safari (internet) works. Still mDNSrepsonder issue? Had this from the beginning with MLforALL hack.

I hope you'll find a solution for that. Thanks for a wonderful job, both of you. You've created a very VERY nice utility, unbelievable! THANKS!

EDIT: Oh, and did a clean 10.8.3 install, and using ethernet (LAN), no WiFi

3. iSight problem with 20" iMac. (Unable to test, no such system available)
