I've got a MacMini 1,1 with the EFI flashed to think it's a MacMini 2,1, upgraded to a T7200 2.0ghz c2d chip running 10.7.5 perfectly. This is one of the models with GMA950… is iMessage and iCloud working on this? What is not working? Sorry if it's been posted, just came upon this thread and there is a LOT of reading…

Just did my MacBook 2,1 last night! To fix iMessage is pretty simple, this comes from my and others Hackintosh work on the subject back in January and is much easier on real mac since NVRAM changes are persistent across reboots. Use Terminal and type:

sudo nvram 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:MLB=

and after the "=" you put your Mac's serial # followed by any 6 random digits of your choosing. It should be 17 digits all together. Then hit enter>type password>reboot>use iMessage :)

Mine is MacBookPro2,2
and it says
nvram: nvram is not supported on this system

I am also getting the same error on my MacBookPro2,2.
However, when I used
Code:
sudo nvram boot-args="-v"
on my Snow Leopard partition to set the computer to verbose boot, it worked just fine. Perhaps this has something to do with the methods we use to install 10.8 on these "unsupported" computers?
Thanks for the idea, though, eep357.

Yeah, I can't say what other model might be different, only MacBook 2,1. Mine has GMA950. Also wouldn't work if using any alternate bootloader. Can check the current value if it has one with

nvram 4D1EDE05-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B38C14:MLB

this should return a number very similar to your serial, but not quite the same. If it has no value or other error, than trying to change it won't help. Some models have 12 digit serials vs 11 digit to. Been using iMessage on mine all day, multiple reboots between ML and Lion, no problem other than with some pictures failing to download. Just need Bonjour working and it's 100% good to go. Good luck!

Guys, due to the large amount of downloads, the download limit is reached on Rapidshare (Thanks for the support :))!!! The alternative download link is: MediaFire

I will be uploading it to Mega & my own server in a short while!

Use V0.2.2 everything is working so far (based on the private betas we did)

----------

So X1600 support is pushed back again?

Nope! Its now included in MLPostFactor0.2.2!

I couldn't get my new magic trackpad to work with ML so I had to switch back to lion... any thoughts?

Fixed on MLPostFactor V0.2.2

----------

So with this new version (0.2.2), it's compatible with iMac's with X1600 graphics cards? And it's up dateable?
Thank you.

Compatible with X1600. To upgrade from V0.1, just follow the guide, when you reboot into the "Install" partition, do not proceed with the installation, just select Utilities > MLPostFactor

----------

You can upgrade to V0.2.2 from V0.1 from existing systems. You can also update your 10.8.x to 10.8.3. However, clean install is always recommended!

To update/upgrade, simply follow the instructions from post #1. (scroll down)

Hi hackerwayne. Am I supposed to restore the 10.8.3 mountain lion installer app to the Install partition using disk utility and then run MLpostfactor 0.2.2 and point to the install partition? I tried this but when I try to boot from the Install partition, I get a no entry sign on the screen.... Thanks...

EDIT

Nevermind, figured it out... did not have .app in Applications folder..

Run MLPostFactor, select 10.8.3, install the combo update, reboot into "Install" partition and run MLPostFactor again.

Recommend clean install. Don't really recommend update (because we havent fully tested the update thing)

Congrats guys, we are now the most viewed thread in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion section of MacRumors Forum (y)

now that 10.8.3 is supported, do we need the 10.8.2 installer or the 10.8.3 installer from the MAS?

thanks!

Don't get your question. 10.8 ~ 10.8.3 is supported. You can have any version of the .app file inside Applications Folder & it will work. (provided u choose the right version in MLPostFactor)

Amazing work. :)

Have made a clean install of 10.8.3, installed with V0.2.2. Runs almost perfect.

However, I still have trouble with network share. I get the same error as in MLPostFactor V0.1.

Thought it was fixed in this release of MLPostFactor?

sorry to ask, but in this part of the guide you mention 10.8.2.

Q&A For MLPostFactor! READ FIRST BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Read the BOLD one twice!

2. 4.37GB 10.8.2 Mountain Lion.app is REQUIRED to be in the Applications Folder.

thanks for the answer!
