Yeah right.
I call bs.
Anyone can post a similar picture.

There is no need to be rude, especially considering the fact that he did deliver a working hack allowing us to use ML on unsupported hardware.

BTW, thanks Hackerwayne and MLforAll, you literally brought my 2007 MacBook out of retirement.

----------

Back to MLPostFactor. V0.3 might be delayed as we're shifting our focus back to 64-bit. MLForAll managed to make GMAs runs 64bit but only 10.8.2

Really? How did he manage that? That's great!

Bravo, MLforAll! Je suis sincèrement impressionné!

Success!

Well, I followed the guide and I successfully installed 10.8.3 in my black macbook (4,1).

I've been doing some tests and here are my results:

- Full graphics acceleration (launchpad works great, mission control too, Cover flow view in finder has no problems).
- Dictation is also running fine. Personal note: is amazing.
- iCloud, iMessage, Game Center and Find my Mac work, no hack needed. iCloud synced my notes, contact, etc perfectly.
- Mail also downloaded my mail correctly.
- Facetime works, but is unusable, see below.
- Integration with twitter and Facebook also working.
- I don't have any problems with the block mayus key!!! The LED turns on and off.
- IR receiver works.
- Audio, brightness ok.
- Wifi, bluetooth, working.
- Tried a VGA external monitor, no issues.
- Click/scroll with two fingers works (I have a pre-multitouch trackpad, so I have no gestures)

Now, the downsides:

- As noted in the guide, I can't repair permissions.
- iSight has very low frame rate.
- Some websites flick on safari. Haven't tested other browsers. I guess is the same problem as in post 1719. However, I have no problems with checkboxes.
- I tried to connect to a windows PC through ethernet and it didn't work, could it be because the mDNSResponder issue? I can see another PC that is connected to my network trough Wi-Fi.

Here's what I did: I did a clean install of Lion, I used my apple Id to configure it, and then followed the guide to install MLPostfactor on top of the Lion installation.

If there's anything I can do to help you with the LED of the block mayus key, please let me know.

Great Work!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Not rude, just stating my opinion.
Saw way too many newbies claiming this and that over the years.
Real iOS hackers are few and well known and don't just post pics in forums like the one above.
I tend to believe him too as he and MLforAll have delivered working hacks that aren't trivial to make. He has zero reason to BS a jailbreak.

iMac 5,2

Just thought I'd give my thanks to the developer of this sick program. I use severally Linux machines and my trusty iMac I've had since late 2006 was about to be come a full time Debian Stable/Arch Linux Machine (I'm seriously paranoid about security hence the Debian Stable but I love to tinker so I also have an Arch install somewhere) anyway I used this program to install OS X 10.8.3 without a hitch made it the primary OS on my iMac (I have a Xubuntu 12.04 partition on here too as a fail safe) but OS X Mountain Lion is the only OS X i have installed on here (I really wasn't a fan of Lion and Snow Leopard was straightening to show its age yes I do realize it got One security update 2013-001 but who knows if thats it thanks Apple :) appreciate your concern over my bank account and the security sensitive Work I do) anyway I don't hate Apple at all I accutally switched way back on G5 to Leopard (I had used Debian since 2001 and Arch since 2008 Slackware before Arch was released) and I loved its rock stability X11 (yeah its a shame its gone in ML oh well) BASH terminal it was my hassle free unix system I used for quite a awhile after its expiration date made the jump to Snow Leopard and used that since 2009 bought Lion when it first came out and ended up installing it 2-3 times and used it pretty significantly but I really didn't see any feature that surpassed Snow Leopard but OS X Mountain Lion has some great new features love notifications iMessage etc... anyway back to my point I have OS X 10.8.3 running perfectly on an iMac 5,2 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo,2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 Ram(trust me 2gb is the limit on the 5,2 i've tried just about everything if anyone has figured that out please sent me a message even another gig would be worth it) 500GB Sata HDD (that was fun to install) and a Intel GMA 950 and besides the iSight camera which i've used exactly twice to take one picture and to show people how you can see LEDs flashing in remotes if you put them up to a webcam OS X 10.8.3 runs better then Lion did for me I've even managed to get KOTOR up and running on it it crashes sometimes but stable for the most part wouldn't hardly run under Lion/SnowLeopard Doom 3 runs great Eternal Legacy the same (also didn't like Lion/SnowLeopard) seriously dude we owe you a great debt for expending the usefulness of Macs and to the people like me who simply can't afford a new Mac at this time this is as good as a mac as I'll get for atleast another year then i'm snagging a pro but seriously thank you bro!

iMac5,X should theoretically supports 4GB ram. Not sure why it didn't work for you.

His hacks are simple file modifications on Mac OS X. Not jailbreaking and OS exploitation on iOS.

Nope. Method requires a iOS developer account.

If the v0.3 version will be delayed, could you possibly re-publish v0.2.2, where mDNSResponder is fixed? So we can take full advantage while we wait for v0.3. :)

I have a 2008 White MacBook (GMA X3100) that has been sitting idle for over a year now. Thanks to this installer script, a fresh battery, and a multi-touch trackpad transplant from a MBP, I have pressed this machine back into daily use. Its physically beat to hell, but surprisingly usable now for a 5 year old machine. Big thanks to hackerwayne for supporting us!

When a new version of MLforAll comes out, I can just re-run the "hack" script in my current installation, right? I patiently await the mDNSResponder fix, but I don't want to invest too much into configuration if I'm going to have to do a clean install of OS X.

@Hackerwayne...You should start a new thread for the iOS 6.1.3 dev account jailbreak. I know is very possible to do this, but I'm a little curious to know what combination of exploits + dev account signed app injection provide a functional jailbreak.

Great Work!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I figured out that installing ML on a 20GB ML partition, causes some HDD Problems (unable to restore permissions). Moving the ML partition to disk0s1 (which is the most common place for an os) solved this problem.

Notice the 'Macintosh HD' in the 'about this mac'.

Just make a clone with CarbonCopyCloner and use Disk Utility to move your partitions, or just do a brand new installation on the fist partition. Both ways just work fine.

This made my iMessage work again and solved some graphic issues.

Still mDNSresponder dosn't work, and it wont until MLPostfactor is updated i think.
And Safari keeps flickering at some websites (for instance Facebook), don't know how to resolve that.

Besides that. WHAOW @hackerwayne, you did a very good job man! i'm very impressed!

now I can use Disk Utility to repair permission, first use hackintosh PC with CLOVER or the other Mac's computer to install , when install fully success(install to ML partition)then reboot in "install partition)use this MLPF to fix ML partition, reboot and TEST repair permission, it's work ^_^

See #1833 and #1834(hackerwayne replied )

Ahum, could you both please get the hell of this forum. Everybody here is trying to accomplish something here, to make ML run on old Mac's, and you guys don't contribute ANYTHING, just bashing of Hackerwayne and MLforALL. Go away, or post something useful. The day any of you posts a working utility for installing 10.8 on an unsupported Mac, or release a JB, I'll remove this post. Until then, please stay away.

And Wayne, YES use colors. Very useful!

V0.2.5 Official ChangLogs:

1. mDNSResponder issues FIXED
2. Disk Utility now repairs permission! (BOM issue fixed)

Unknown Issues:

1. BootCamp issues. Doesn't detect boot drive, though it was a permission problem, it wasn't - Not Fixed
2. Glitches when using Safari. Unable to replicate the issue on my iMac5,1 C2D & MacBook2,1. - Not Fixed
3. NumLock & iSight - Issues with IOHIDFamily.kext, will not be fixed in 32-bit. No such issue on 64-bit installation. - Not Fixed Works fine on 64-bit
4. AFTP/AFP (Apple Filling Protocol) Issues. Replacing AFP files with patched 10.7.5 files results in Kernel Panic. Stock files are 64-bit only hence not usable. - Not Fixed (works fine on 64-bit)
4. Memory Leak issue with Safari & causes crash - Yet to be rectified/confirmed

Thinking to implement a script to fix the dock issues on GMA 950. (GMA 950's OpenGL does not support some effects in ML's dock. Disabling "mirror" fixed the issue)

----------

Dear hackerwayne:

See in front of you wrote Apple_iSight.kext DP1, there will be a keyboard light and sleep issues.

I just tested 10.8 DP1, 10.7.5,10.6.8,10.5.6 kext

But still low refresh

Sleep, I want use refresh to exchange function of the camera, the keyboard light (MacBook2 was no keyboard light)

Please inform whether to give up sleep, can have to take the normal use of the camera (FaceTime)?

Thanks

Its not iSight kexts, its IOHIDFamily.kext

Should i do a detailed explanation on why IOHIDFamily.kexts causes so much problems?

Thank very much, Wayne. So what fixes will not be included for us 32-bit users? Any substantial reason to wait for 0.3 if one has a Macbook 4,1?

4. Memory Leak issue with Safari & causes crash - Yet to be rectified/confirmed

I guess I missed that skimming through this thread. Is it serious? Are we sure it is due to MLPostFactor and not a Safari bug?
