flicks

Hi, guys!

Does anybody have problem with all QT videos (html5 in Safari, QuickTime) that they are flickering (white flicks when playing, especially when moving mouse cursor)? No problem playing videos with FFMPEG via Movist. Flash playing fine.

My gear is MacBook Pro 2,2 with X1600, installed an MLPostFactor-32bit.

No Problems here... same hardware (256MB VRAM BTO) nor using a MacBook 4,1.
If you migrated anything you could try to delete all QT Preferences (e.g. with AppCleaner). If not I think it's worth to give it another try and reinstall the system.

Before, you can also try different file formats or plugins to achieve better playback (perian, flip4mac working fine here).

Flickering is a known problem on v0.2, specially with some pages like Facebook using Safari.
Chrome frequently crashes when used.

Seems like this has been corrected in v0.3.

Same for me, want to conform too. I've got a MacPro1,1 with an upgraded graphics card, an ATI Radeon HD 3870. Will this Mac work with MLPF64 v0.3 Beta? Sorry for being annoying, but it's hard for me to verify this on my own. Perhaps there is some kind of hardware compatibility list, but I didn't find it.

It seemed like it was strobing or something. Good to hear that it's fixed in the next version tho. Got Google Chrome running by installing the beta version. Canary and regular kept crashing.

Try it. As the developers don't have all possible combinations of Mac's/GFXcards, it depends. So give it a try.

It will be supported on x64

OpenGL issue wasn't worked on in V0.3, couldn't find out what the issue was. But we will include it if we manage to fix it. This only affects 10.8.3. No such issue on 10.8.2

Nope! Its not a known issue on V0.2. Its a known issue on 10.8.3.

10.8.4 Combo Update took forever to install. Im attempting to make MLPF compatible with 10.8.4. So far the only way to install is to reinstall. I'm 1 hour into installing the Combo Update to no avai.

Although things might change when the release version comes out. But just a heads up, update from 10.8.X > 10.8.4 might not be possible.

One month ago more 2 users reported this.
Did you read ALL posts on the thread?

You're saying i didn't read all the post on my own thread? I have tested things out before making a claim. Please understand that.

I am unable to replicate the issue on 10.8.2.

Since you're experiencing that issue, why not try to fix it yourself?

I tried it out for 10.8.3 and it's working!
The Server is not showing up in Finder but connecting with "cmd +k" and
"afp://serverip" works really good.

For all who don't have the 10.7.5 & DP1 Files

Update

Now with a script, which performs the copy work

Regarding iSight has very low frames hence, not usable (Minor)

Hey, all. First of all congrats on the installer and the effort. You just added 2 more years of life into my MacBook.

Secondly, because iSight not being usable is more than a minor issue for me personally, I tried improving the performance using 3rd party software. The best so far seems to be iGlasses 3, which pretty much makes iSight at least usable for Skype, FaceTime, etc..

Cheers.

10.8.4 install attempt

Well, I got it to boot for a about a minute before the Kernal Panic. I have used up my bag of OSX tricks. Will have to do some serious contemplation before trying again.

Hi Hackerwayne,
Again, thank you for all your work. I'm not sure if you saw my first post, so here it goes: 10.8.0 cannot offer WPA authentication when sharing it's internet connection via wifi.
Would you be so kind as to take a look at this, if it is at all possible to fix?

Thank you!

I created a 200GB partition called "ML" on my 2007 GMA950 MacBook.

I installed MLPF (10.8.3) onto a 32GB UBS stick (Extended/Journaled/GUID)

But when I try to reboot from the USB I get the non-smoking sign.

What should I do?

Btw, can we not put MLPF (and) Install OS X Mountain Lion.app on the USB then boot (and install) from the USB alone? Can we not do this WITHOUT partitions? That way I can do a clean install and have no extra partitions. PLUS take the USB and use it on any unsupported Mac.

Yes, you can use a USB as the Installer partition.
Just follow the step-by-step instructions on the 1st post, but when it refers to the Install partition point to the USB pen.

I used Lion to create the USB pen, and then totally wiped my SSD and created a single partition for ML.

The forbidden sign means something went wrong probably... Verify if all the installation files were copied to the USB.
What is the file size on the USB?
