Here are my numbers right now:

71% Battery Left
Usage: 1 Hour, 13 Minutes
Standby: 11 Hours, 38 Minutes

The numbers I really have a question about are the Call Time numbers.

1 Day, 21 hours of Lifetime Call Time??

On a 5 day old phone?

I think NOT. LOL...

I have the same issue. My 3GS that I got on Sunday show 5 days of phone usage. I assume that the phone use stat got backed up and then restored to my 3GS.

I also have calibrated my battery... only have 3G on, everything else off...

Usage: 6 Hours, 58 Minutes
Standby: 11 Hours, 18 Minutes
Battery left: 27%

Now thats using it as an iPod, a couple phone calls, some internet usage, checking mail every 15 minutes... not too bad I think?

I dunno if this is good or bad stats

3:48 Usage
11:30 Standby

Battery's at 18%

Everything's on except Bluetooth, and brightness is at about 2/3.
I've mostly done surfing on 3G and WiFi. Checked email a few times, did a brief round of IM, and half a dozen text messages. Haven't used it as a phone or iPod today.

Seems fairly weak to me. Not as bad as some, but not nearly as good as the last couple guys posting above me, for example.

Don't let other people's stats fool you.

You can serious skew the usage number by using the iPod alot.

It uses FAR less power than calls and data.

7 minutes using safari and on the phone and my phone is on 99%. I NEED A NEW ONE.

---

My old 3G actually would drain at a rate of 1% a minute. Not kidding. I ran the stopwatch app thing in the clock and nine minutes into the test I was at 90% battery life. They gave me a new one.

I just run mine almost all the way down, this was my usage. With 3G on, Location, Push, and half screen brightness.

Really?

I think that is awesome and I have yet to achieve that much usage in one charge.

But again, it all depends on how much you use your iPod.

Today, I took it off the charger at 100%, listened to the iPod for 23 minutes, and it was still at 100%.

Then I checked my email, and it instantly went down to 99%.

Can some one help me with this:

I did swap my phone for a new one and battery seems to be better. I charged the new phone up overnight. Was suing it some yesterday, and last night when into the usage menu and this was displayed:

"Time since last full charge"
Usage -
Stand by -

it shows no time, just a dash in each spot. The phone that had the bad battery did that too. The new phone has only been charged once since I got it Wed eve, and I am still on the first full charge up. The 1st 3GS phone with bad battery showed the same thing and it was charged several times.

Why is this - any ideas?

Went to the local iPhone store today and they're swapping my 32gb 3GS out...sadly, they had no replacements available in the store, but expected to have some in tomorrow. Regardless, he processed the order and I just need to walk in and do the swap when it arrives.

I explained to him everything I've done including full restore x2 with setup as a new iphone, multiple battery cyclings, disabling of push and all battery draining possibilities, etc. He said they've had "several" similar complaints--whatever that means.

I unplugged my iphone at 10am this morning and walked up to the genius bar at 2pm with 12% battery left after light use this afternoon...

I'll report back after a few days with my new iphone tomorrow.

Back home with the new phone after the switch today. Sadly, this one isn't as loud as my other one...oh well can't win them all.

I'm going to run this one down until it shuts off on its own then charge it overnight. I'll do that a few times then report back.

That's comparing to the old 3G battery life.
Somehow after a few full charges my 3GS performance got bumped up a bit today. now it's like:
Usage 2hrs 40 min
Standby 13 hours 55 min
with 38% left.

My usage: 4:20 until the battery was drained.

However, I did a bunch of web browsing, about 30 minutes of GPS + compass, some YouTube, and a bunch of games. This is only my first charge cycle since I got my replacement from Apple, so I expect the battery to get better. However especially considering the amount I used the GPS, I don't think my numbers are that bad. My 2g usually got about 5-6 hours or so.

my dad made literally less than 30 minutes of calls today (checked the online bill to make sure he wasnt fudging the numbers) and his battery went down from 100% to less than 50%. by the time i was playing around with it, it went down past 29%. not to mention that its overheating like crazy (ive never felt/held an iphone that is putting out this much heat before). he didnt use any applications and i made sure his settings were properly configured (1/4 brightness, no auto brightness, no auto searching for wifi, wifi off, etc) too.

we already have a genius bar appointment set for tomorrow, so hopefully we can get a brand new phone in exchange! :)

Here is what I found out after speaking to Apple tech on the phone. If you set your 3GS phone up from a back up from a 3G phone; something is fouling up the new phone. He had me restore, then set up the 3GS as a new phone. Took a bit to do, but not bad. I now have "Time since last full charge" usage & stand by readings - the battery meter stayed on full all last night, and I used it quite a bit.

Those of you having issues my want to try this. So far it has seemed to work for me. Hope it does for you too!
