Oh my goooooddd look at the colours of those iMacs!! That’s so neat. How can I order a boring MBP if I know they can make their machines look like that!! I hope so much they give the MBA with updated displays next year some sweet sweet colours and I’ll finally get a MacBook🥰😍

Bring on the new Mac Studio

I always have and always will use a Logitech mouse over any mouse that Apple make. Actually Microsoft mice in the past were awesome too.

But in terms of trackpads. Apple have made the best for a while but the surface devices do have very nice trackpads too.
yep same here. i use the MX Master 3S with Mac Mouse Fix. its awesome.

You can show me all the pretty pictures you want but I want to see real world usage before I purchase.
Yes, many real world people have some USB-A connector peripherals in sure, so perhaps they ought to add a photo with a multi-port hub dongle sticking out the back of it for a 'real world' look.

I'm curious what Satechi may produce in terms of a hub/dock base for the new one.

All that said, my ire over the port reduction was mollified by the inclusion of Thunderbolt 5 and in the M4 Pro version and increase in base RAM.

Does anyone have a size comparison pic of the M4 Mac mini vs the original Steve Jobs Mac mini?

They knocked it out of the park with the new mini. The base model is an incredible deal! Now I want an iphone mini pro!

I think the Mini is sort of a ratio adjustment. I haven't looked at the volume differences, but the previous version seemed to be optimized for a low profile, with a larger footprint. This is more square, with more even ratios. It also may have similar thermal characteristics. Who knows.

It's perfect, except the Power Button :D

I remember similar discussions when Apple moved the iMac power button to the back - it was mostly about aesthetics, as the design encouraged a natural “pinch” motion to power it on.

Here, though, there’s a bit more functionality involved. With a device this compact, placing the power button anywhere other than its current position would cause the device to shift unintentionally. Placing it on top would also risk accidental presses.

This placement feels like the most practical option, and it’s great to see Apple’s commitment to intuitive UX remains strong.

I think the Mini is just a ratio adjustment. Haven't looked at the volume differences, but the previous version seemed to be optimized for a low profile, with a larger footprint. This is more square, and the ratios are more even. Looking at it this way, it's not as dramatic.
Yes and no. While the new mini is a bit taller, it’s still dramatically smaller overall, in total volume.

I've been wondering but didn't see it anywhere so I just calculated the volume difference:

Old mini: 1389cc
New mini: 806cc

42% smaller by volume

This doesn't factor in the rounded corners, which look a little tighter on the new one so I'm calling that a wash.

This lines right up with the weight reduction of 43%, so the overall density didn't really change (I think they mentioned a lot of aluminum being removed in the video).

With the increased Pro chip power and 64GB RAM option, this thing is now a true micro beast. I am already super impressed, and am hoping the maxed chip doesn't thermal throttle.
