I’m not thrilled about Face ID in some scenarios. Mainly the gym. Otherwise it’s pretty quick and great.

Yes. The screen didn’t work (wouldn’t recognize touch). Wife was already on the fence about the hardware changes and newness (to Apple) of the design/implementation. That DOA was enough for her to say “nope”. she’ll stick with the 6s till it peters out then probably get a plus of some kind.

I am definitely leaning towards returning it I think :(
The one thing that bothers me is when you take a screenshot the top of the picture looks funny because it’s cut out for the shape of the screen.

Returned mine earlier today and bought a 1 month old 8 Plus at a nice discount. Decided to wait for the Plus version that I expect to come next year. Nice phone overall but a little smaller than I would like. Will wait for V2 and the Plus next year.

Mine went back Saturday but I am itching to have some kind of new phone. I just don't know what. I am back to the plus for the time being but the X Plus couldn't come soon enough!

i was just curious if anyone here and decided they didn’t like their iPhone X and returned it for a different phone or went back to your old iPhone?
I have been debating returning mine the battery life doesn’t seem to be any better then my iPhone 7 Plus and I don’t notice a big difference in interface obviously that never changes it feels like I am using the iPhone 7 still
But whthout a home button.
Also I cannot charge it on my charging pad in my car which really drives me nuts.
Tell me your thoughts on this.

I returned my IPhone X yesterday and chose to go back to wider plus size screen. Loved the Face ID and silly me I miss those Animojis but I missed my bigger phone more. I love the traditional pearly white face and the wide slightly larger screen more then the cute Animojis. Im use to typing on the roomier keyboard. I’m part of the upgrade program so was worried it was gonna be an ordeal to make the switch but it wasn’t bad at all. Next year if they decide to make the full screen larger and wider I will definitely upgrade provided my monthly payment doesn’t go up too much. I’m enjoying the 8 plus till then.

Rather than see what other people have done or tell you to do, why don't you do what YOU or your WIFE wants? If you're not happy with battery, or your wife doesn't like it, swap it and be happy with what you swap to. Chances are you know you'll be downgrading in some other way so that's why you are looking for council. Just do what your gut says.
Dude ! Lol, that is what this forum is for- advise! Lol

Funny I returned mine but when I returned the phone the Apple rep said “what’s wrong too small “ I said yes she said “they are getting a lot of people returning for the same reason - even people in the store when looking “

8 plus it is for me

I don't think the screen is any smaller than Plus version. It's the bezels that reduced the overall length. I got iPhone X and i am never going to return it for a Plus iPhone.

I don’t understand what you mean by this. There are no cut outs in the screen shots when I take them?

This is funny. Apple is selling many of the iPhone X and now many are returning the iPhone X. Like to see what their numbers are a month from now.

I don't think that you can extract "many" from a less than two page thread on a forum that typically roasts the best of the new Apple products for pages and pages. I haven't read a serious complaint of the X in this thread, mostly buyers remorse and nit pickers' posts.

Returned mine on thurs and went back to my SE. Pros didn't outweigh the original reasons I loved the SE and back to my se and iPad mini 2 setup for casual media consumption. iPad Pro 10.5 and MBP for productivity.

I returned mine after less than 24 hours. I did not like the smaller screen which meant smaller text and a more cramped keyboard. Also, I am too used to the weight of my Plus series phones (6+,&+,8+) and it felt very light. Didn't have any issue with Face ID, even in a semi-dark bedroom.Couldn't stop looking at the notch. I already had the 8 Plus and didn't feel like this brought enough value to replace it.

I seriously had every intention of returning my X while I was waiting for it to arrive. I just didn't want to regret not ordering one if I decided I wanted one and have to wait a few weeks. After I finally gave in and decided to open it 2 full days later, I don't think I could go back to any pre-X phone. It's next generation, the others seem old. Not going into the debate whether the next gen is worth the price, but I just know I can't go back. Usability is the most important thing to me and the screen real estate in a small form sealed the deal.

It’s small in size. Like I went backwards to a iPhone 6 not going to debate. Like I said it’s a known thing at the Apple store there must be a lot of plus users retuning the x

Undecided since picked it up yesterday. However, this unit is definitely going back due to several sizable dust under camera lens.
