Undecided since picked it up yesterday. However, this unit is definitely going back due to several sizable dust under camera lens.

That's always annoying when it happens, even if it doesn't affect the photo's, but Apple will replace it, because they ultimately don't repair that specific issue.

Yeah, I know. I've had it happen once before. I'm just not sure if I'm going to keep it and if I do I may just get the 256GB one.

[doublepost=1509913353][/doublepost]Why would you not use the regular car charger in your car? Everything I have read says the battery lasts longer so I don't know about that. Maybe it's just not the phone for you. If I felt it was not an improvement I would return it.

Apple says on their own website the 8 plus has one hour more battery doing intensive tasks. You must be reading wrong places

Unfortunately returned at 5 days old due to giant (relatively) speck of what looks like dried brown Bermuda grass just under bottom camera lens inside housing. Was not there at purchase. Had no issues otherwise moving from 7+.

I am happy with mine coming from my 7 Plus, but it only comes down to what YOU think, not a forum of individual opinions. If you don't like it, bring it back.

I am definitely leaning towards returning it I think :(
The one thing that bothers me is when you take a screenshot the top of the picture looks funny because it’s cut out for the shape of the screen.

Umm, do you have an iPhone X. Screenshots 100% do not have a cut out. If that's the one thing that bothers you, you're good. Sounds like you're just spurting nonsense though.

i was just curious if anyone here and decided they didn’t like their iPhone X and returned it for a different phone or went back to your old iPhone?
I have been debating returning mine the battery life doesn’t seem to be any better then my iPhone 7 Plus and I don’t notice a big difference in interface obviously that never changes it feels like I am using the iPhone 7 still
But whthout a home button.
Also I cannot charge it on my charging pad in my car which really drives me nuts.
Tell me your thoughts on this.
I returned mine, but only because of fraudulent practice by the carrier. I have always bought my iPhones directly from Apple. For some reason, this time I elected to buy one from our cellular provider--Verizon. The day after I started using the new iPhone, I somehow racked up 20GB of cellular data downloads in about a half-hour without my knowledge. Upon investigation, it turns out that when they shipped it, Verizon enabled cellular downloads for every app on the phone by default, including software updates, without my knowledge. When I contacted them to complain, they blamed Apple ("it's an Apple feature")

It shouldn’t have better battery life than the plus models, only the normal 8.
Oh I don’t know why I thought that.

Perhaps because multiple high profile third party tests have shown the 8 Plus lasting longer than the X in when tested.

I've been using the X for a week and I'm definitely returning it for an 8 plus.

While I absolutely love the display color and edge to edge it's still not enough to make up for these two things that are absolute deal breakers for me in practice:

- The screen is absolutely smaller in practical every day use due to being more narrow. I couldn't care less about extra room at the top. I'm always scrolling to keep whatever I'm looking at in the middle of the screen anyway. When I'm texting I don't give a crap about messages that are farther up the page, I care about the keyboard size.

When using it in profile mode which is 100% of the time other than landscape video for me, it is noticeably smaller than the Plus. In actual fact it is the same display width as the regular 8 NOT the 8 plus. (well covered by tech reviewers now) This also means a narrower keyboard in addition to having to zoom a bit more just to achieve the same side by side scaling.

- Facial recognition is notably slower than the fingerprint unlock even when it gets it right the first time. On occasions when the angle, light, or anything else is off it is dramatically slower. With my 7 Plus I could unlock my phone while it's still laying on my desk with a touch. Now I MUST pick up my phone or friggin lean over it EVERY DAMN TIME. Considering I pick up my phone literally hundreds of times a day that annoyance adds up.

Paying $200 more for even a few minutes of added irritation every single damn day is just adding insult to injury and I'll gladly sacrifice the gorgeous screen and sexier design for a phone with a wider display and bigger keyboard that unlocks faster.

I am not exaggerating when I say that at this point I'd gladly pay $100 more for the 8 plus. That I'm actually going to be saving money instead is just a nice added bonus.

This is exactly why I went with the 8 Plus instead of the X...not saying the X is not a great new redesigned iPhone, but it’s brand new technology. I figured to let Apple improve upon the X for a couple more generations and then make the jump. I never had a Plus iPhone before either. I had a 5 and then a 6. In a way, the 8 Plus is a brand new redesigned phone for me with the much larger and wider screen...love it! Once the speaker cracking gets fixed (hopefully), it is a perfect phone!

Not to mention, I saved 200 dollars by going with the 8 Plus.

Am I the only one who hates the wider screens of the plus iPhones?

I watched loads of youtube videos of people using them, discussing them, complaining about them etc.

I made a considered decision to buy one even though I had only bought the 7Plus 5 months earlier.

I would be a real idiot if I decided that my existing phone was better for me than the X after all my research.

The X held no surprises for me. The battery life isn't as good as the 7Plus but I knew that would be the case and I accepted that. It is good enough to get me through the day with plenty to spare.

I love my X and would fight anyone who tried to take it away from me.

Bought a 256gb SG yesterday via iUP...returned it today and got a 64gb SG 8 Plus. The phone is gorgeous and very well built but I just wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t like the tallness of the phone and really missed having that home button/Touch ID. The gestures were really cool though.

Gesture controls are definitely something that's going to be more widespread with the iPhone in the future and iPad line. Next year Apple is rumored to offer a 6.1 LCD iPhone, which undoubtedly will have Gesture controls implemented.

And what about those screenshots as well. Doesn’t that annoy you too?

I got the X last night and I’m returning it this weekend.

I got it for the camera, as I’m someone who takes a lot of photos, and work in the photography industry.

I’m coming from a 7 and it’s just too big for me. It’s just too hard to scroll with one hand. I tried the accessibility option and it’s impossible to figure out. Takes so many tries to get it to work and then the screen just bounces back up anyways.

And I was up all night with the thoughts of the price just looming over me. Just added up to way more when you include Apple Care, a case etc etc. For this price the AirPods should at least have been included or something else to make the purchase more unique, and to just make the price more reasonable.

I just wish they would just add the awesome cameras to a more reasonably sized phone for us who don’t went to lug around something huge.

Smart to return it in that case.

Anytime I've had any kind of buyers remorse or consternation like you're describing, I remove all other considerations and return the item/change the decision.

Peace of mind and lower stress is truly priceless.

I first bought the 64g version and sold, and then tried again 256g, eventually sold again

Just not accustomed to the Face ID, Touch ID is still convenient from day to day use in my opinion.

I really like the X a lot. I think the notch isn’t nearly as intrusive as I expected and I liked the dimension and design and I loved having the flashlight so easy to get to.

My eyes just couldn’t adjust to the display flicker. Most people’s eyes are fine with it but I’m in the unlucky small percentage that gets eye strain from it. My husband’s X display has the flicker but a milder white tone to it that I do well enough with there’s a good chance I’ll take it as a hand me down when he’s done with it.

I also found it very difficult to accept the price of it. I was able to trade in my 7 Plus that was experiencing a rapidly draining battery to get the price of an iPhone 8 Plus down to $630. That just feels about right to me.

I’m very happy to be on the 8 Plus. I’ve never gotten to own a silver iPhone with a white bezel before and I love it.

I do find the 8 Plus more comfortable to hold. It feels easier to balance. And I do not miss trying to keep that massive lens protrusion on the X clean and protected. However I do miss having OIS on both lenses.
