Finally saw an iPhone X for the first time tonight. Guy was using his while sitting in a cafe.

They’ve been selling like crazy at the local Apple stores. But, this being New York City, I suspect people are reluctant to show them in public as of yet, which is a smart move.

Case in point: a week after launch, I was using mine on the subway when I noticed two rough-looking guys staring at me. They looked at each other, and I could tell they were planning to jump me when I got off the train. I remained calm, and decided to fake like I was getting off at the next stop, allowing them and some other passengers to get off ahead of me. I took my time walking to the doorway, but then stopped there just as the train doors shut, with me still safely inside. Whew!

Since then I’ve kept the X in my pocket, controlling it with my Apple Watch and wireless headphones.

I also live in NYC and I've been seeing them here and there for weeks now--including when I was on the train last night. I'm seeing a much larger number of Samsung phones in the past few months.

I saw my first in Chicago last month and since that time (I live in Michigan) I've seen 3. Two belong to friends and I sat next to a guy at the Lions game the other day. No one at my place of business (120 people) has one.

You know which phone all 120 people have? :)

I guess if they are work phones and you are in IT you might but how about personal phones?

You're right to some degree. I work in a car dealership and I'm see most people but you're right not everyone. I should have said I have not seen one in my place of business at all.

When you guys see them out in the wild, are the majority in cases or naked?

3 of the 6 (phones) I saw on the plane were naked. That was also surprising. I have mine in a case, but LOVE how it feels without one. Best hand feel since my 3G. Just don't want to go through the hassle and money to replace it if I (or anyone else I hand it to while traveling) drops it.

I have had workers at the sky club desk drop my phone before and with no case, thats all I would see or think about if I handed them a naked phone.

I have only seen 4-5 X's in the wild (not including mine). I mainly see people with older devices (6s, 7, some 8's). I also don't see a ton of Andriod phones either (but much more than I see X's).

2 @ work so far only one during commute! Goes to show “fanpples” are still very much happy with their 7 pluses & possibly 8+

I myself have one, but no one at my work place. But I've also seen a lot everywhere. Recently at a restaurant, at the clinic I work at (patient), I see those all over the place in a small campus town.

I am yet to catch my first glimpse of somebody with an iPhone X. I’ve seen a few 8’s being used in cafes and by sales people but the X has been pretty illusive and it’s been out for quite a few weeks now. Strange really.

Co-Workers... but other than that nope. It isn't summer yet so I don't expect to. Once summer hits, I go to baseball games and I'm sure there will be plenty of people there with an X.

It is my inner nerd to notice sometimes what type of phone someone has riding the bus and train here in Seattle.

I haven’t seen anyone with an X in the wild other than one other person. I just found that a little interesting. Has anyone else noticed that?
Lol its a 1400 euro mobile. Not every human is that liquid lol
