Here's a new one i took today...It's been drearily cloudy these past days, so i have no great sun light to add to the photos....and I think this would look better in black and white...i might try it in a few minutes to see how much better it makes it....feel free to comment:D

Would really like input on this

Not so much composition wise, just as to how the HDR looks.

It's a view of Kailua in Oahu, Hawaii.

i was just reading the first few pages of this thread and saw where some people were debating about realistic and over-the-top HDR's...i enjoy both styles but personally i like the more subtle/realistic look...like mentioned many times before..alot of times..it depends on what your shooting..here are 2 HDR's i did..one is a little over-the-top and the other is on the realistic side...both done with 3 exposures...still learning...there's tons of great photo's here..great job everyone :)

Beautiful! The sky is just amazing.

And, uh, the composition seems fine to me… foreground and background interest, etc. I'm no expert but things seem balanced.

Well

Since my last post, I've played around a bit more with Photomatix and I'm pretty impressed with what it can do. Not sure how my pictures translate, but I'll put a few up.

This was from a small plane in Alaska

Oops, a prior one

didn't upload.

Here's the Grand Wailea in Maui.

It's probably my most arty so far.

Rouxeny, those are among the best hdr shots i have seen in a while.

Amazing work, please keep posting images of this quality. The shaft of light in the lighthouse picture is beautiful.

The Kyoto pic is just plain beautiful. Love it.

2nd try, I now see that I used exposure blending on the first and not tone mapping.

Anyway, here's a better one.

Comments and suggestions most welcome.

This one looks better than the first one, but personally i think it would look better with a little more tone mapping...giving it a darker feel....but a nice picture!:)

Actually, I think some of the previous photos have been too dark, almost to the point of being underexposed. This one is a nice respite.

The plants look like they're wiggling. I really like this one.

Haha Thanks! We grow a pretty big garden so expect more haha!

haha love teh cat and the "extra noise"

Thanks! lol he was meowing to me as i stood outside...and the noise was totally accidental, i just opened the RAW image in Photomatix, it made it into a pseudo-HDR and then i added tone mapping and this happened..but i really like the way it looks with the extra noise...
