Wanted to share a picture of the fitness room that I have been using down in Fort Myers, Florida. Overlooks the Gulf, I actually did all my running outside in the sweltering 93° heat:D , but used the weights inside the facility. The view is motivation by itself.

I'm soon to get back to running. Noticed last week my injury from last year is finely gone. No more clicking here and there and no random swelling. Which is perfect given that it's summer. Might get fit for some new trail shoes as a treat to myself. Brush off the old weight vest. Maybe do some HIIT, preferably on flat land this time.

Good to hear about your injury. Speaking of trail running, I have not done so in quite some time, but that is a challenge on its own. There are a lot of great trails in my state in heavily wooded areas. I personally enjoy the scenery and I try to focus on my environment around me when I’m running. (I don’t listen to music of any sort), but having been in Fort Myers as of recent, I absolutely enjoy the different vegetation, plant life and scenery when running (As strange as that may be to some). I found myself actually running farther over my normal distances just from sightseeing during runs.

Just a few pictures of my ventures of running endeavors:

Beach Sunset Run. It’s fairly difficult to run in sand, because you can never gain complete traction, but much cooler at this time of Evening.

Long...Run on Estero Boulevard, this is facing Time square, there is a fishing pier directly behind me. Humidity down here is on another level, but I did fairly well. Lots of traffic to be aware of when running.

Yeah, I hadn't bothered to check it out in a while and noticed it while I was watching one of the games and had my feet up. I'm praying for some nice cooler weather because this humid warm crap is a drag. And that sand dune trail looks awesome. Enjoy your vacation.

Good to hear about the loss, though that's pretty aggressive at ~5 lbs per week ... depending.

Where did you start? Height, weight?
IIRC he was near 400 lb? Typically, obese individuals (no idea how to say it in a nicer way, macandcheese) can cut at a higher rate per week than more in shape individuals. Cutting while obese is fairly LBM sparing whereas you'd need to go slower the more fit you are. Though the rapid weight loss while obese is incredibly good for the cardiovascular system. Subcutaneous fat will be lost, but what's important is that the amount of visceral or hard fat under the muscle fascia of his abdomen will go away too, leading to better organ health.

Oh clearly, it’s definitely a ratio/%

We watch a couple of shows that involve massive weight loss, and 5-10 lbs a week isn’t uncommon.

Yeah, starting at 400 lbs, awesome work @macncheese

Pretty pics. Ft Meyers has been developed quite a bit as has all of Florida?

This is my fourth time in Florida, second time in Fort Myers (Already booked next year to return:D.) I can’t speak for Florida in general as a whole, but the Fort Myers area is thriving off tourism, but their slow season is in September/October, with November-April being their ‘Platinum’ for the highest peak numbers in traffic. In terms of exercise, I rarely used my rental, and mainly walked/ran to all my locations. The seafood is plentiful and fresh down here, some of the healthiest eating options for me were caught the day before, with items like Grouper, snapper, Flounder, Mahi-Mahi, and of course shrimp. [You literally can have seafood caught fresh from the Gulf on same day or day before, packed on ice and shipped to your door. Nice.]

Altogether, it’s a gorgeous area and I met some nice locals who helped me in the process of seeking properties, I looked at a few investment development shares/properties, being myself and my partner see the advantages specifically in this area, which shows a healthy return long term.

I literally could run on the beach every day and never get tired of seeing the ocean. In terms of being healthy, Fort Meyers has enough activity in various water sports, year round warm climate and healthy seafood options that would suit my active lifestyle nicely.

I'm 5 11 and hit 315. I lost ten pounds the first week and ten the second. Then it was a five to ten each week, a little less sometimes....I also never exercised and was able to get to the gym a few times a week and do cardio and strength training.

Glad you enjoyed it. I thought I replied to @Huntn the other morning but I guess I never hit enter. I've only been to Florida a few times in my life, most for work and years ago, but there was about an 8 year time period in between visits to Cape Coral, and while I was impressed the first time, I was blown away the second time. I'm sure it's even better now. Then again, it's a really nice part of Florida, sort of like Jupiter. Though the nicer portions of Florida standout more than the lowly areas.

I do enjoy the subtropical weather, though. Reminds me of the islands of Hawaii. It's very comfortable most of the year.

It's gets pretty chilly on the NE coast of Florida, Gulf side stays a bit warmer, and of course the southern tip. We're headed down to our place in The Keys in a couple of weeks, hitting up the lobster mini season - we got matching hats for our crew :D

Define chilly?

Never been to the Keys. I think the closest I've been to a similar area is probably the Hamptons or east whatever it's called in the middle of summer. No idea why people even go there in the summer. Though I'm sure the Keys are nicer. Almost like the Maldives.

I think what I like most about Florida, was obviously the warmer climate experience year-round and that is something I could adjust to with my running schedule accordingly. I don’t mind warmer climates with humidity, but where I run outside in my state, it’s rather boring, and as strange as it may sound, the lush vegetation and scenery never appeared old to me running in Florida. As mentioned, I would almost over extend my running because I was distracted by how beautiful everything in the Fort Meyers area, which is one of the many reasons why am returning next year, even longer of a trip (Also,
Planning on spending a day or two in Miami). I Typically never carry my phone with me when I run, but down in Florida I did, and I photoed some really stellar shots of the local life, sunsets, greenery and surroundings.

So, a New chapter begins for me:

I have always completed all my work outs right at home with my own equipment for years, I have *never* had a gym membership and I am in excellent physical shape. I Started lifting weights approximately 12 years ago with a set of 25 pound dumbbells and worked my way all the way up to 70lbs, diversifying in different weights with curlbars, larger dumbbells, pull-up bars, resistance bands, etc. And then all my running I have always done so outside in any weather environment. (I also have never used a treadmill.)

That all said, for quite sometime, I have been contemplating wanting to start bodybuilding and I watched a really interesting documentary on Schwarzenegger recently and his methodology behind what he did to achieve his physique, and that inspired me not necessarily to look like like him, but to take my vision with my motivation and inspiration from his determination to start this new project for myself.

In order for me to increasingly change my body physically to being larger, I absolutely had to start my first gym membership, which I’m actually already on day three. I’m spending a minimum of two hours every visit to the gym, changing my eating habits considerably by eating almost every three hours in between my other work commitments.

Ultimately, my goal is to put on 20 pounds of muscle over the course of the next year, (Which bodybuilding is interval progressive) but I will conduct six week evaluations to see were I am physically during this time frame. I think this is a huge challenge for myself, I don’t know exactly if I will reach my end goal because this is so new to me, but I have the proper background to know what I have to do in order to *shock* the muscles in order to > teardown >rebuild>refresh with adequate rest rates.

Altogether, I’m very excited for this, this is not strictly for any competitions, this is something I have been wanting to do for myself Soley. I have the mindset and the goals, I’m young, I have good genetics, necessary lifting background, proper techniques, eating habits, ect. I just need the consistency and continued determination through these challenges to build myself physically and better myself mentally through my training. I expect some hurdles, but I welcome the challenge And it will be an interesting year to reach my goal.

And no, I won’t be using a trainer to assist. :D

I may have already mentioned this, but I have cut out cereal for breakfast, instead eating a banana and a glass of fruit/vegetable juice. What is your impression about the relative health of eating cereal? After reading about bread, I know that flour is not the best. My impression is that Oates are good, but what about whole wheat products? I’m researching this.

Fruit juice is full of sugar. And, it’s nit that a serving of bread is bad, but a bagel is not the best nutritional value. Bread Carbs spike your sugar, which affects your triglycerides and A1C. You can have all that though with portion control. There is a website eat this not that. One of many that gave great info on foods.

Well I’m drinking a glass of V8 healthy greens, 11g sugar, 60 calories. The other stuff is V8 V Fusion, strawberry banana, 12g sugar and 50 calories. This is not typical fruit juice. :)

Day Six into my new regiment and going strong. This is just part of Relentless Power’s new Protein- based bodybuilding meal plan. :D

Various types of protein drinks and bars, [as mentioned], I consume lots of milk, at least 3 gallons a week, three dozen eggs, oatmeal, a variety type of protein-based pasta, three bags of chicken breasts and a five pound tub of Annex Elite protein muscle builder.

Oh... And not pictured here, but included in my weekly B.B intake includes:

~ locally sourced Duck eggs.
~ Tuna steaks/salmon
~ Lean beef and ‘Flat’ steaks
~ Fresh Guacamole

Annex is Awesome stuff and only the best. I prefer to mix this with milk, otherwise you can even sprinkle a little bit is on top of oatmeal, or whole-grain cereal, a little bit goes a long whey. (<--Pun intended).
