Sweet! FYI, they also make killer hummus, fresh chickpeas, garlic, olive oil, S&P, touch of lemon and really ANYTHING else, a little red pepper flake, some "everything" seasoning - plus you can make it thick, coarse, or smooth, really change it up.

Umm. sounds tasty except what is S&P ??

The local Y (Houston) opened today, heading there shortly to swim. I’ll be curious to see if they have rearranged their work out equipment.
What a disappointment today. I waltzed into the Y at about 10:45am to use the pool. There was 1 person in the pool and I discovered I had to sign up for a 45min swim slot and swimming was over at 11 till 5pm. Well I usually swim for 1hr:15min. Then at 5:40 lighting started and the pool was closed so my 6pm slot was delayed until 6:30 So I went home and will try again tomorrow at 10am. ?

I suspect ‘slotted sign-up’ times will be the ‘new thing‘ moving forward in gyms to control the whole grouping aspect. I know with certain gyms, versus group exercises, now it’s encouraged to sign up for ‘one-on-one‘ with an instructor. Ultimately, I think that will slow gym business down, but will offer more safety Measures, given the exposure that gyms pose.

The YMCA offers one on one Instruction in the weight room, but they don’t particularly push it as far as I have noticed. I don’t see that for the pool, and yes it will hurt their business.

I got to swim at the Y today, hurrah! Swim periods are on the hour to 45 min after. The locker rooms are closed, but the family change rooms are open to use the toilet and change. Normally I do change, in the locker room, but because of this arrangement, I opted to wear my swim trunks to the Y under gym shorts.

They kick every one out of the pool at 45 so they can “clean” before the next group of 8 (8 lanes) can come in , which is wiping down chairs were any one sat. In actuality, I was able to go in and take a lane at :55 so I got about 50 minutes of swimming in and swam about 36 laps (72 lengths of the pool). I could tell I was out of shape. I do a variety of strokes and because of the time restrictions, I shifted more of my laps to crawl which is faster.

I’m next scheduled to go back on Thursday morning. Oh, they let you schedule 72hrs prior on their app so set an alert. :)

I just found out I’ve gained five pounds in the past month

All the DoorDash food hasn’t helped. I need to get back into the habit of going for long bike rides regularly.

Oh, Don’t worry, I’m sure DoorDash has helped, and was eating some of the fries out of that bag for you before they dropped it off at your door, thus saving you some calories.😁

After years of being a pretty good athlete and in decent shape I started falling into bad habits and ballooned to 240 pounds at only 5'6". To make matters worse I'm 51 and I was really starting to feel awful carrying around that weight. I decided to get back into running and eating right. I cut out sugar and sodas, ate less, and started running again. Since March I've lost 22 pounds and am determined to get back to a normal weight. It's hard getting up at 5:20 AM to run but it's been worth it.

I’m back to swimming 50 laps (100 lengths of the pool) in about 1hr 15minutes. This requires reserving back to back slots at the YMCA. I can tell I’m not quite back yet, and I’m anxious for the Y to reopen their gym. My understanding is that gym slots will be scheduled using the Y App just like the pool is scheduled With set times.

I'm an avid swimmer. Not sure whether its safe to resume swimming in the pool yet.
Presumably pools should be just fine considering all the chlorine. I imagine the greater concern invoked locker rooms.

I’m in Boston and our pools are listed as Phase III, so the soonest open currently projected at the end of the month. I normally swim 3000-4000 yards/day 4-5x a week and it sucks not having my desired exercise. I’ve switched to jogging for now but I have a bad back so it’s not fun at all

Despite my better judgement, my primary lap pool is still an overpriced WASPY tennis club, located conveniently along my daily commute. Members include mostly 60-75 year old retired adult luxury condo owners ;). I also have a local high school nearby my home with a pool open to the public at nominal cost. I can be much busier and have less restrictive lap swim times.

I’m not looking forward to this possibility of a very structured pool... I am itchy as it is not swimming. I’m definitely going to be out of shape after 3 months+ of being out of the water. Just going a few days without a swim I can sense a difference. I hate the sense of feeling every stroke.

The Bureaucratic “administration” of my club will assuredly make reopening more confusing and difficult. They’ve offered some conflicting future isolation ideas that are just absurd. Like closing every other swim lane  and limited swim time based on age life freaks schedules by age e. Also shutting down all locker rooms showers, only having bathrooms. They already FORBID “deck changing” (taking off clothes on pool deck). 95% of the time, regardless of the time, I am the only person in the pool.

It’s been quite a while since I can last remember finding myself in a situation where I had to wear my swimsuit under my clothes or misplace pants and wear a towel home... but if I can’t change in/out of my swimsuit on-site, easily store my clothes, rinse the chlorine off me, etc I guess I’ll just arrive to the club from home every AM, wearing only a Speedo just to remind them of the all the services they’ve stopped providing.

The YMCA gym opened on Wed I think, at least the parking lot was fuller. It is being scheduled for 45 min slots. I was told they are letting people in every 15 minutes which seems like that would be a hassle to manage, something about machines with a label hanging on them that you flip when you are done using it and an attendant has to run over the wipe the machine down before the next person can use it. I’m scheduling myself for Friday, so I’ll see how that goes. I do have a cloth face mask I’ll try wearing while, working out, but I anticipate it will be hot on my face.

I’m feeling it’s safe enough, but what do I know? ;)

Went to the gym three times yesterday (5AM = weight lifting; Lunchtime = Swimming; 6PM = light cardio).
Today PM only, Martial Arts.

I also changed my breakfast for those days I go to the gym in the morning. It's now, one egg in a basket (using wheat toast), and a couple of small turkey patties (no oil or butter, a few spices to give it flavor).

I am working on myself these days, and walk regularly (when my body allows it). I have a bad back though, so I can only go so far. I do my best to eat a lot of fruit and drink plenty of water, as well as avoiding fast food crap.

Already lost 25 pounds!

I can only imagine with the continued weight loss, it will make a major impact on your back and how it feels on a daily basis. Best of luck and press on!
