That's where the flavour comes from! That grill needs to be pressure washed and steam cleaned. So much filth.
That's where the flavour comes from!
I remember when I was a bodybuilder wearing “my” bodybuilder clothes, eating my bodybuilder diet, “and” combing my bodybuilder hair, people “would” stop me on the street all the time saying, “you work out” and ask “how much can you lift”. Using my bodybuilder “voice“ I’d reply, “as much as necessary”. Then I’d flash them a bodybuilder grin with a nod and a bodybuilder wink “I’d“ walk off using my best bodybuilder strut. Srs, not bodybuilder satire.
Is your spinach cooked or raw? My homemade smoothie is made with 1 frozen banana (peeled), 1 frozen plum or nectarine (seed previously removed), about 5 frozen strawberries, a squirt of lemon juice, and fake or real sugar to taste, blended. The sweetness brings out the tang of flavor.First Viatmix smoothie was a success today. I started off basic with strawberries, banana, spinach, and ice. You could never tell spinach was in there by drinking it, it came out so good.

Gutty, I get you’re in your 60s now, but why do I gather that you were never a bodybuilder to begin with?
Spinach was raw. Didn't even need to take the leaves off the strawberries, I just rinsed them and threw them in. And I like the idea of plums, I'll try them sometime. Is your spinach cooked or raw? I got the Ascent 3500 in Graphite, but accidentally got the wrong tamper holder that is incompatible with the Ascent series lol. Side note, Target's customer service is really good. I went online to process a return, and they gave me a refund but said I can keep the tamper holder. I'll probably sell it or something.Congratulations! Which model and color did you get? Did you pick up any accessories? I think the only accessory I have is the tamper holder. Convenient.

Hummus is in my plans. I already have all those ingredients in my pantry, and I can imagine it comes out better than any hummus you get in the store.Sweet! FYI, they also make killer hummus, fresh chickpeas, garlic, olive oil, S&P, touch of lemon and really ANYTHING else, a little red pepper flake, some "everything" seasoning - plus you can make it thick, coarse, or smooth, really change it up.
True, I never called it that. I just picked things up and put them down.
I appreciate your honesty. On that note, you’d probably make a great candidate for a new gym member at Planet fitness.?

Oh yeah, we cancelled our gym/workout memberships (Bailey's, OTF, Y, MA), yoga moved to virtual only, as I mentioned, we scored a nice row machine, got a little something else(s) on order The stairs in our house go up to a decent sized landing area / room, it's mostly open, bookshelves, my "tech closet" is there, it's been nothing, a reading room, my office, storage (don't ask ...), and now the little G's office, but there's still a ton of room, so it'll be the new workout space (and we might add a partition of sorts, to kind of isolate a little).

I also got the Aer container, personal blending cups, and blending bowls. The cool thing about this model is it automatically detects which container you place on it, and adjusts the settings accordingly.
A seasoned grill is one thing I suppose, but cooking on filth with filth dropping from the lid peppering the product adds funk.
Whaddya, whaddya... funk is the immune system accelerant. People pay good money for stuff like that if they actually have to buy it in little bottles with labels and ingredient lists and all.
I draw the line at letting pigeons roost in the thing when it's cold, but..
I hear quilts help too. That’s a theory. Sigh.
Did at one point did you say you lived in the Catskills? Are you in or close proximity to the mountains? If so, I am envious.Hah. Getting more theoretical by the moment! ?
Quilts may make folks (or critters) sleep better, that's about it. But I sometimes dream about them when I'm working on one, and that makes me wake up before dawn! I'm often behind the eightball on some project except lately when it's harder to connect with my longarm quilter thanks to the blasted covid-19.
Re this thread's "eating healthy": when I'm on a roll with some quilting project, I have to make myself set time aside to cook decent meals, otherwise I'd be in open-fridge-grab-something mode for all my meals. I have to keep a "Use this stuff up" list on my laptop's desktop so I don't waste fresh produce.
I have a sign on my fridge says "Quilting forever, housework whenever"... and I didn't want it also to become "cooking whenever" in practice. I do like to eat foods that are healthful and cooked from scratch even if I don't or can't spare the time to cook well every day.
My secret: serve the leftovers first and freeze them, and always keep enough stuff around to make a fantastic dinner salad in about five minutes. I do prep like peeling carrots and cutting up peppers or celery while I'm too sleepy to notice how boring that is while I'm waiting for the coffee water to boil in the morning. That stuff can go back in fridge for hours or most of a day with no harm to outcomes.
And as far as exercise goes, at least spring and summer sort of guarantee a certain amount of activity around here. The guy who mows my lawn doesn't whack weeds or keep them out of my reduced veggie garden either, so that's up to me. When weather closes in, then I'm back to brief dance workouts a few times a day while I wait for water to boil or veggies to sauté. But I'm up and down stairs six or eight times a day for fabrics or other quilting-related supplies, plus heeding the suggestion that it's good to get up and move around a little at least once an hour anyway.
Best exercise (per a relative who was a physican): shove self away from dinner table way too soon.
Did at one point did you say you lived in the Catskills? Are you in or close proximity to the mountains? If so, I am envious.
Nope. Done with public gyms. Can’t stand the people or hassles. And I predate Planet Fitness by one, maybe two decades.
It is very scenic but the winters can occasionally be brutal, and even when they're not, they can sure feel like they run long, like from late October through March and even into April. I'm in the western foothills, or the "wrinkles" of the Catskills proper, which are to the southeast of my county.
Here if you're at the top of a hill along a road running east-west, your house is probably also partway down some other hill to your north or south (or both), and horizons are often a quarter mile or less. The impression I get is one of being nestled into the hills and sort of sheltered by them, but if one is used to the open plains then this area can generate a sense of claustrophobia. Our hills and minor mountains top out in range of 1800-2500 feet. Next counties over to the east and south have the taller mountains like Hunter, and Slide, they run around 4k and are the highest of the 30 or so hills over 3500 feet. The Catskills are technically a dissected plateau region, and are a part of the northern end of the Appalachian chain.
At the upper points of the range of hills around here it can take a little longer to cook things, since water boils at a lower temperature as one gets farther above sea level (and you need a little more water). Those effects do start to get noticeable at around the 2k' mark. Took me awhile to figure that out. I was getting "al dente" rice even when I wasn't particularly aiming for it...
I'm an avid swimmer. Not sure whether its safe to resume swimming in the pool yet.
