Apple hasn't had a new product release with serious hype since the original iPad. That's a long time without a major new product release. Is Cook just another Spindler?

What new product categories would you like to see?

Should be easy to come up with at least 5 or 6, along with saying a few words about the markets and potential sales.

After reading MacRumors detailed Vision Pro packaging description, all I could envision was this....🤣

Seriously, after reading a lot of Macrumors comments, the VP gets to look exactly like this. People may indeed see it this way in the not-so-distant future. But imagine what it felt like to be part of that group of people who were the first to dive the depths of the ocean, able to see and breathe, walking around and seeing the wonder of it all. Must have been a pretty baddass experience!

I suspect this product will have a very high return rate. It's an experience that people will want to try for an extended time, with their own content, but I suspect many will determine it's not worth $3,500+ at this time.

I wonder if the large box is intended to make it just a little more annoying to return, in the hopes that people just keep them, rather than lugging back to the store or to a UPS drop off location.

Imagine carrying that box out into the parking lot... with the commemorative shopping bag, especially if you live in one of the seedy areas of the U.S. Might as well tape a couple dozen $100 bills to your body and blast some music.

Hope UPS isn't doing a drop and run like they do with many Apple shipments these days.
We used to walk people out of the store when they bought a lot of stuff. They'd drive straight home and pull into their garage, especially with a $3500 toy.

I've yet to have an iPhone delivered without a signature. UPS sees "AI" and treats it seriously.

I bought THREE AVP headsets.

I bought them JUST for the polishing cloth. After I extract that microfiber goodness I'm putting all 3 of them in a burlap sack with a cinder block in it and tossing off the mid span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

There's nothing any of you can do to stop me.

So how'm I suposed to carry that monstrosity to my car ...??
Guess I gotta tip an employee from The Cube on 5th Avenue:
home of the $9 16 oz. bottle of Tropical Fantasy orange soda .... lol
🖖❤️

Is it $30B? I thought it was 15 years at roughly $1B per year. Curious to learn more.
Yeah Apple spent $30B last year and it will likely grow again this year. They keep throwing money at the innovation problem (yes, it’s a problem at this point).

Steve Jobs spent about $2B in his final year and much less than that for the first few years, yet he gave us iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, unibody MB, iTunes, iCloud, Apple TV, A series chips, GarageBand, Mac OS X, MB Air, etc.

The reasoning for the large box is so very obvious and logical, seriously!
Sure, very obvious, until they figure out how to get everything into a much smaller package, as they always do. Then that smaller packaging will be so obvious you’ll ask why they made the first box so big in the first place.

Wow that is a really big box. Also it's very white. Amazing how they printed an image of the product and the products name on there too, thats really innovative. Hard to tell from the image but it seems you can open the box and remove the product, which will be crazy!

The $30 Billion number is essentially impossible. That's the cost of actually building two full Ford-class aircraft carriers, or a several times over multiple for Boeing/Airbus to develop an entire new airplane, or TSMC to develop and build an entire new generation of chips and the factory/fab to produce them.

It's just not a credible number for corporate technology development unless you're looking at something like the F-35, and even then that's at least a few year's spend on R&D, not a single year.

WTF? Stop it. Exercising common sense in that manner will not earn you any forum cred.

All will be forgiven if within the next 24 hour you take a couple swings at TC and Apple. Please be a little more careful next time.
