After reading MacRumors detailed Vision Pro packaging description, all I could envision was this....🤣

Keeping the packaging compact by removing things like the charger, people complain.

Give people more stuff in the box (thus necessitating a larger container), people also complain.

Yeah people who are irrationally biased against the VP are happy to have something else to complain about. That render makes it look larger than it probably is, but I’m looking forward to the unboxing videos so we can see how efficiently Apple packaged everything.

I bought an Amazon refurbished iPad Pro and its brown box was half as thick as the Apple box. Of course all they did was wrap the iPad in some bubble wrap while the cable and plug were sitting loose in it. Plenty of opportunities for the iPad to get scratched up during shipping.

Sadly, true. But it does help people to feel better.

I collect Apple Boxes and have about 25 years worth. This won't fit on the shelf I use. They're all HOmePod height and only my PowerMac and iMac boxes sit out in the garage. The AVP box won't fit on my big shelf of boxes so I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. Maybe I need a new shelf?
Can you share a picture of your “collection”?

The are just the ones that sit behind me in my office on Zoom calls. there are more on the 2 shelves below. My wife for Christmas got me those Apple Park prints on the wall which I LOVE.

All of the computer boxes are in the garage and they're all in their respective cardboard boxes. All of the iPhone boxes have the iPhones in them including a gen 1 iPhone. I have some of the old iPads but not all and then I have every Apple Watch "series" box including the Series 0 space black w/ link bracelet (bottom right) and you can see how HUGE the gen 0 Apple Watch box was compared to toda.

I think Jobs sincerely believed in this stuff.

Cook? I'm way more skeptical.

Seriously though, the list of what's all in the box doesn't at all explain why it's so huge.

Apple loves you

Apple are going insecure.
Need to blow up the box to at least give the customer a good box.

All other products have fitting boxes without empty space. It’s really odd around these scubas.

I don't believe this will really be the box. It's just way too big. And non-descript.

Perhaps this was a box that they used to ship multiple demo units to a store for employee trainings.

I do not want to bash the Vision Pro, it may be an awesome product. But the contents of the box just does not scream Apple "it just works": Solo Knit Band, a Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal cushions, a cover, an external battery pack, a USB-C charging cable, a power adapter, a polishing cloth, and the Vision Pro headset itself. Plus you may need Zeiss lenses.
Compare that to an iPod plus headphones, an iMac all-in-on computer, an iPad tablet, or an iPhone that you used with only your finger (a *key* feature when it came out).

You didn't buy the first iPhone, did you?
