Imagine carrying that box out into the parking lot... with the commemorative shopping bag, especially if you live in one of the seedy areas of the U.S. Might as well tape a couple dozen $100 bills to your body and blast some music.

Hope UPS isn't doing a drop and run like they do with many Apple shipments these days.
Name the locations where Apple has seedy stores?

The thing is the accessories all have to be in separate boxes and then selected by size per customer, so the packing can't be as efficient as it would be were it to simply be a one-size-fits-all device like pretty much everything else Apple sell.
Wait for the 4th generation (priced 4500$). Here the box will be much smaller and only include the glasses them self. Headband, battery and everything else are sold separately because a lot of people already have a lot of these. They will do that to avoid the massive carbon footprint shipping a huge box will cost.

10.3 lbs. No dimensions are given.
Many thanks.

Jeez. Looks like I really did dodge a bullet. Assuming the box is around 18"x15"x12" (very hard to tell from the photo), that would have cost me about $800 to ship to Thailand. Seems that Apple did me a big favour when they canceled my order!

neither proves customers were robbed.

Dude people buy MacBooks everyday at these stores. That's around the same price..

It's okay to leave your house lol

No worries, those guys only rob stores because they follow a code of conduct. You on the street are perfectly safe carrying your boxed product. Apple didn't need to launch Stolen Device Protection. LOL.

Frist gen boxes seem bigger. First gen iPhone was pretty big and included the dock.

The Stainless Steel first gen Apple Watch boxes were gorgeous.

While the design itself may be fairly unremarkable, the box's size is immense, almost filling the entire lap of a customer.

Always something to moan about :)

Are you suggesting to go to another Apple Store to pick up an Apple Vision Pro because there are bad people out there in the real world?

Apple, once again saving the environment one Vision Pro at a time. What's the point in pointing out that you are an enviro hero, when with the other hand you are creating more waste? I'm not against the Vision Pro, I'm against being a hypocrit.

Does that mean these head straps cannot be folded and are actually stiff? Sounds annoying and I guess you really need a case to carry it all. Like a drone

Sounds like a pain to bring it in an airplane. I can’t imagine bringing that big case and having to take the battery and everything off before landing.
