Alright, for people who managed to get a replacement sport band from Apple, how did you manage it?

I have an S3, and I have now attempted to call Apple four separate times to purchase these Hermès sport bands. I have seen others in this thread posting success stories about these bands, and saying that they had to provide their Hermès Watch serial numbers in order to do so. So far, I just keep ending up with sales reps who keep trying to sell me other bands, try to initiate a warranty return, or some other nonsensical resolution.

What did you guys have to say/do to actually purchase these bands?
Did you call apple support? Not store support. Did you say you lost it? Did you try to frame it as a repair?

Could be it doesn’t work for series 3 since it is about the “44mm, orange/black, Hermes sport band” repair part. But then you could try using a serial number of watch that is not your own from eBay pics.

I used the apple support app on my iPhone. My Hermes watch is already linked to my account. I simply had to explain that I broke mine and was able to place an order with the rep. Simple process if your watch is already linked to your Apple ID

Framing it as a repair did the trick. I currently have a 38mm orange sport band under replacement order. This was using a serial number from an S3. Thanks!!!

Awesome. Yeah the big hurdle here is that the reps likely haven’t done this before. Works for the edition watches too and I’ve heard tell even the NikeLAB in UK.

Found a photo of the new nylon band on Instagram. Seems like it’s attached to a gold aluminium watch.
What does everyone think?

I drop the ..., you understand. it looks really cheap. if you look at it with me rose mexico just posted, we are on two different planets for beauty and elegance. the only requirement is that it is perfectly made to last, otherwise it is doomed.

I don‘t think it looks “cheap“. But I don‘t think it looks like a 300+ $ band either. It will be interesting to read reports how it looks and feels in real life.

Band fabric is soft, band feels sturdy and thick, doesn’t flex easily. Has a premium feel.
These definitely look nicer than the old Apple woven nylon bands. Using sewn in metal hardware, having the band taper instead of being one width, and the quality of the weave all are really nice. But they should be for a band that costs that much. And durability remains an open question. The Apple woven nylons frayed along the edges with use. I wonder if these will hold up any better?

I still think these are priced too high relative to the Hermès leather bands. If the price had been somewhere around $200, I might have been tempted with the right color combination (none of these really do it for me). At a price of $320 though, I will choose to pay an extra $20 for a leather band every time.

Not in my experience. I have quite a few of the woven nylon bands and wear them regularly. All the edges are fine. Maybe if one has just one or two „daily drivers“ this might happen? Or in rough environments.

Yeah, me too. I happen to dig the Kraft/Rouge de Coeur, but I‘ll wait until that one pops up on ebay. If that ever happens … after all this time I‘m still waiting for a Lime Single Tour to show up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
