I see exactly what you mean. I didn't use many of the colorful Hermes faces because of the thick black bezels. I was really hoping for that to change. :-( Now I think about getting the gold stainless steel version which Hermes still doesn't offer. :-(

It‘s quite infuriating, isn‘t it? Now that the black screen bezels are finally small enough that the full-colour Hermès faces could look really good, Apple rather added some additional „colour bezels“ around the digits. Because why not. 🙄

I think I‘ll send my Hermès S7 back and just get a regular silver steel S7 … [checks availability] … in the first half of December. 😯

Yes, it really sounds like a dealbreaker for me too.
If I remember correctly you're also from Germany? I think Mediamarkt and Amazon are a bit quicker last time I checked.

Both had launch day stock, I think, but right now Amazon quotes „1-2 months“ and Mediamarkt „23.-25.11.“ … but I would assume those are just very vague estimates. I‘m sure the Apple store will always get new stock first before the resellers. And Apple often „underpromises and overdelivers“, meaning the date may move foreward.

i was lucky to get the green AL on launch day from Mediamarkts onlinestore.
My expectations, related to the parallax effect and the new display glas, were sort of like this:

After taking the S7AL ‚in service‘, reality hit me hard and i cancelled the SSGold at the Apple onlinestore, because i realised, that my expectations were completely absurd.


...But the green S7 will stay

Does anyone think the startup apple  is lower on the screen than on an S6?. It’s like Apple changed the way they centered the . On S6 it’s higher up, perhaps with more of the apple in the upper half. On the S7 the has more of the apple in the lower half. It looks less centered, but might in fact be more centered, technically, than the S6 apple.

@the future I saw a post here earlier by @Dstopsie which showed that at least the Hermes Circulaire face is optimized for the bigger screen. I don't know how to quote a photo, unfortunately.

Noone using this watch face?
Seems to use the whole screen and also allows for some complications.

I used that one for most of the last year. It’s a very informative, albeit busy looking screen.

So I woke up disappointed by the lack of the stretched out numerals on the Hermès watch face.

Then I noticed that the parallax effect also causes the screen to turn grey. Apple/Hermès seem to have kept the numerals just outside the parallax to avoid them being grayed when viewed at an angle.

I think you need a Beta profile for the advanced version

Beta profile will allow you to test the upcoming 8.1.

OP was inquiring about 8.0.2, which does not exist in dev beta/public beta/GA release as of today.

I placed this order on Oct 12 and it's been saying 'Approving Order' since then.
Is it possible that I wait 2 months like Apple store?

If that was Apple‘s thinking here, why did they ignore this on all other (relevant) Watch Faces except the Hermès one?

Good example! That is the „money shot“ watch face the bigger display of the S7 is marketed with - with all digits almost completely in the „grey“ area!

It would be interesting to find out if and how Apple and Hermès collaborate on these software-related decisions. Alas we‘ll never know and just have to accept the results. Will they change what they did for the S7? I really doubt it. If there is some sort of public outcry Apple sometimes reconsiders, but this is such a niche issue involving such a low number of users, I doubt anything will happen.

Which country did you order from Hermes in? I’m seeing the same status on my order (placed on the Hermes Canada online store).

Because the Cape Cod watch faces are intended to replicate the quartz watches. Look where 1, 5, 7, and 11 are below.
