I love this question (and also, kudos to you for your correct use of ’piqued’). On an earlier post, I mentioned that it was the orange double tour band on a non-Apple Watch that got me interested in Hermes. At the time, I couldn’t imagine spending a lot of $$ on a watch of any kind. Flash forward a few years. My first Apple Watch was the Series 2, the Nike version (non-cellular). I’d been really happy with it, and then the Series 4 came out. I fell in love with the Series 4 Hermes - the Navy/Orange watch face and Navy/Orange/White leather strap. It was definitely more than I’d ever spent on something for myself (aside from a laptop perhaps). But I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and my husband encouraged me to go for it. And so I did, sort of. I went for the Fauve Barenia double-tour instead of the Navy/Orange/White strap, b/c I wanted something more versatile (and at the time I couldn’t justify purchasing more than one Hermes leather watch strap). I have absolutely loved my Hermes Apple Watch, although I wish I’d also picked up that multi-coloured strap in addition to the Fauve Barenia. It was just so striking. I sort of replicated it by combining halves from two sport bands, but it wasn’t the same, of course. If they ever brought it back, I’d snap it up in a heartbeat.
And now I’m excitedly waiting for my new Series 7 Hermès! I’ve ordered the double-tour in bleu lin, but I’m also considering another leather strap (or two). Once again, the practical side of me thinks I should order navy or black, but I’m also drawn to the orange and lime leather straps - and I’d love to get my hands on the bambou strap (I think it was from last year).
Sorry for the long response - your question brought back happy memories while I await my new Hermes AW!
