For you Hermes aficionados: how long do you keep your AW? Also do you have access to new release watch faces even if your watch is not the current model? Say, I purchased the Series 7 Hermes, when it comes time for Series 8, will I have access to those new watch faces?
I purchased the Hermes Series 4 and have stuck with it until this year (Series 7). As far as I can tell, I’ve had access to all of the Hermes faces, even though I haven’t upgraded since 2018.

I am sort of embarrassed to ask this question, but I was wondering whether the MacRumors site has a marketplace where members buy/sell their Apple products. I did a search but couldn’t seem to find it - although I’m sure I am missing something. Failing that, is there a trusted source to purchase watch straps that are no longer sold by Apple or Hermes? Now I can’t stop thinking about that Bambou strap from Series 6…. TIA!

Yes, there is. However you'd need to have at least 250 posts in order to access it. Just 227 more to go! ?

I love this question (and also, kudos to you for your correct use of ’piqued’). On an earlier post, I mentioned that it was the orange double tour band on a non-Apple Watch that got me interested in Hermes. At the time, I couldn’t imagine spending a lot of $$ on a watch of any kind. Flash forward a few years. My first Apple Watch was the Series 2, the Nike version (non-cellular). I’d been really happy with it, and then the Series 4 came out. I fell in love with the Series 4 Hermes - the Navy/Orange watch face and Navy/Orange/White leather strap. It was definitely more than I’d ever spent on something for myself (aside from a laptop perhaps). But I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and my husband encouraged me to go for it. And so I did, sort of. I went for the Fauve Barenia double-tour instead of the Navy/Orange/White strap, b/c I wanted something more versatile (and at the time I couldn’t justify purchasing more than one Hermes leather watch strap). I have absolutely loved my Hermes Apple Watch, although I wish I’d also picked up that multi-coloured strap in addition to the Fauve Barenia. It was just so striking. I sort of replicated it by combining halves from two sport bands, but it wasn’t the same, of course. If they ever brought it back, I’d snap it up in a heartbeat.

And now I’m excitedly waiting for my new Series 7 Hermès! I’ve ordered the double-tour in bleu lin, but I’m also considering another leather strap (or two). Once again, the practical side of me thinks I should order navy or black, but I’m also drawn to the orange and lime leather straps - and I’d love to get my hands on the bambou strap (I think it was from last year).

Sorry for the long response - your question brought back happy memories while I await my new Hermes AW!
The bamboo strap in 45mm is still a available on Hermes website ??. Probably not for long though. The blue, orange, and white strap you were referring to was nicknamed the “clown strap” because of the colors. I had that strap for awhile and then sold it to a forum member last year. Every so often it has popped back up on Hermes website. But mostly I see it on eBay.

Hi yes it does. If you scroll down to the end of the forums it is there. I think you have to be a member for a year or something like that to post on it. It’s where I sell my items all the time, except for my Hermes Noir/Blanc/Gold band that won’t move!! Lol.

Hi, can anyone with access to the marketplace let me know if there’s a 40 mm Double Tour in Fauve available for purchase?

^^^ All this.

Exclusively wore initially Gucci, then Cartier, then Rolex. Always a tech geek though at heart and in 2015 I alternated between SS AW and Rolex. Then I realised that the AW was just too useful so the Rolex ended up in my draw.

Nearly always worn the SS (non Hermes) model through the generations and treated myself this time around to the Hermes. Going to be hard going back now IMO. The band is excellent and the faces are the only ones I use now. I said in another thread (or maybe this one) that your watch is the thing you look at most in a day and now with the Hermes I have a smile each time I look at it...just like I did with the Cartier and Rolex. I'm not pretending it is a Rolex or Cartier, but it gives me pleasure and I am in the position to enjoy it so why not :)
Well said!!! I agree 1000%. I love to look at those faces and change my bands to whatever strikes my fancy that day. Still on a biscuit kick for now.

Let me check. I scrolled through the postings and went as far back as September 15th and did not see any listing for this band. The only place I see this is on eBay at outrageous prices.

The Hermes website has the 41mm double tour Attelage in Gold, not fauve on their web site. If it is on their site, then they have it in stock ready to ship. Hermes does not put things on their site that they don’t have in stock.

It's funny/interesting/scary how they get us comfortable with their prices. I didn't consider the Hermes because initially I thought the price differential to be too high. Now I feel it's fair or even a good price.

I've noticed if you like something from Hermes that you can't count on it being there when you're fully ready to buy. Once it sells out they might not re-supply/restock it. Or they may just decide not to carry it anymore.

Thanks so much for checking!

Various U.S. Hermes locations still seem to have the non-Attelage version available, however, they do not ship to Canada nor would they ship to a U.S.-based freight forwarding company.

I’ll keep checking eBay in now for something reasonable to pop up.

I'm the same. I don't like it when things look used. ?
I definitely try to keep my stuff looking new and nice -- my car got wrapped to keep the paint looking perfect. But, I'm also not going to be crazy about it either.

But, I do stand by what I said -- if you're overspending on luxury goods, you should reconsider spending the money.

What piqued your initial interest in getting a Hermes Apple Watch? I heard of Hermes since S0, but didn’t pay attention to what they did since I thought and felt they only made silk scarves. Later I read an article about how comfortable their bands were. I’ve always had some kind of comfort complaint with all my previous bands.
I’m an Hermes shopper and an Apple Watch covert. I wasn’t into having a block of watch on my wrist until ‘unlock while masked’ happened. It’s made a lot of things more convenient and I actually love it now thanks to the classic watch faces Hermes offers and of course the beautiful bands.

I got the S6 this summer just to gauge weather I might like it more than functionally. My niece is throughly enjoying that one now lol.

We’ve been eagerly waiting for it to become the “disney fast pass for life” since 2015. Government ID, home NFC door lock for when I’m coming home without my phone (has anyone seen word on this since 15.0 dropped?), immunization records, more affordable cars supporting CarKey…it might not have to add more life-saving health features to reach the wonderful future where “you will seem irresponsible for not wearing one”

I have NFC door locks in my building & I literally never want to go back to having keys LOL. Not having to take a key out for anything is the most convenient thing ever. I can either unlock the door as I’m walking down the hall or use my phone or watch at the door…it’s perfect! I’m looking forward to more and more features in the coming years.

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. There is someone local selling a Series 5 with an unused deployment buckle + orange band. Looks to be in excellent condition, with all original packaging. I had two questions:

  1. Does the deployment band change over time, or would this be the same as buying the current version from Apple/Hermes?
  2. What would be a fair price, assuming everything is in excellent condition?
  3. Everything seems very legit, but anything I should look for to make sure?
I'm really only interested in the deployment buckle for the Hermes model, and the differences between the series 5 and series 7 are pretty negligible to me. I've attached some photos for reference.

Thank you!
Sorry to bring this up again, but can someone tell me if the deployment band from the Series 5 would be the same as the one on the Series 7?

That you in advance!

I don’t want to trust the machines this much.

Sorry to pester but are they Home Key compatible or just a third party app? The dearth of documentation on iOS 15 “Home Key” from Apple is maddening and it would helpful to know if they populated “create Home Key” for ya…

Just e-mailed August today and got a full “nope,” even on their newer ones. And Level has NFC but unclear whether It Just Works™

I use to feel the same way but I’m a convert now. Don’t have to worry about lost keys or changing locks for whatever reason. I can just change the code & keep it moving. There is a door code for back up purposes…there’s also a key if necessary. Plus there’s an added level of security because it records anyone that goes in & out my door.

Not pestering at all. Apple Home Key definitely needs some work, so I’m using the third party manufacturer app on my iPhone & Apple Watch…it works flawlessly every time.

Hi- it is the same. The one currently for sale on apple website is the 44mm and that is the same as the one i have from my series 6 noir and my series 3 ebene. The ebene deployment buckle on Hermes website says it is a 45mm.

Yeah I figured Home Key isn’t a thing yet unless Level magically works.

Love my August and Insignia garage thing and have recently augmented with NFC sticker “Personal Automations,” which don’t work with Watch yet.

Jumped into my photo editor…the backwards naming of these “extra” circuit faces makes me think maybe they aren’t meant to presage new bands, but gotta keep my concept skills up…let me know if have any other concepts based on Birkin bags you wanna see, I can make any pair now pretty quickly.
