White stitching is a pet peeve of mine but it really is a gorgeous band. ?Hi everyone!
So last year I really wanted a Fauve Barenia band. I wanted to have something that would develop an attractive patina and started looking for the Double Tour. I had zero luck and I "settled" on the Gourmette Double Tour. I ended up returning that band as it wasn't what I actually wanted.
I got the Fauve Barenia Double Tour last year (yay!) and lately have been thinking about the Gourmette version. Found the attached picture in my post history from when I had the Gourmette and think the patina it gets will be just as nice as the DT... maybe nicer due to the chain link appearance it has.
This would be my 4th leather band from Hermes. I have the Fauve Barenia DT, Noir DT, and the Noir DT Attelage. Do I go for the band? Thoughts?

Agreed - I’ve been more and more tempted over the last few weeks. Just difficult to shell out £849 when that could go a long way towards a new MacBook Pro decisions decisions…Fauve Barenia Gourmette Double Tour imo is the most "design beautiful" bands ever made. Period. If it weren't because I have very tiny wrists, I'd get one in a heart beat.
And I really believe in a few years, looking back, this band will do very well in the resale market too.
Only make a luxury purchase when you feel comfortable. No pressure. After all, it’s just another thing you “want”, not what you “need”. ?Agreed - I’ve been more and more tempted over the last few weeks. My wrists are small as well and the Double Tour bands are the only ones I'm able to wear. I wear them on the 4th hole but could easily use the 3rd. Have you tried a DT band? If you can wear a black watch band year round I see no problem with the Rouge H in the spring/summerQuestion: do you guys think the Rouge H will look too winter in the spring/ summer times. Or you think it’s a color that works all four seasons?
IMO you can wear it spring/summer. It's not a vibrant red at all. I find it to be more brown with muted red overtones.Question: do you guys think the Rouge H will look too winter in the spring/ summer times. Or you think it’s a color that works all four seasons?
Update: Hermès kept the band and gave me a voucher for a new one. Thinking about which simple tour Jumping band to get. Tending toward https://www.hermes.com/ch/fr/produc...-hermes-simple-tour-45mm-jumping-H0006021vAC/
I wear it all year. (The Hermès colour of the year is Lime; which is very spring/summer.)Question: do you guys think the Rouge H will look too winter in the spring/ summer times. Or you think it’s a color that works all four seasons?
Do you mean worn daily (or almost)? How's the strap and the leather holding up?I wear it all year. (The Hermès colour of the year is Lime; which is very spring/summer.)
I wear the jumping single strap mostly daily, through all seasons and all activities: snorkeling, skiing, hiking. As the strap is woven nylon, it holds up well.Do you mean worn daily (or almost)? How's the strap and the leather holding up?
Wow, is this the second incidence of this happening? I recall another post about the same problem.Update: Hermès kept the band and gave me a voucher for a new one. First incidence with this band. I also had a problem with a Fauve Barenia leather band, that Hermès repaired.Wow, is this the second incidence of this happening? I recall another post about the same problem.
