Why on earth would someone put a Nike face on a Hermès watch? Make it look cheap so no one will steal it?

The „Hermès Watch“ itself looks exactly like any ordinary steel Apple Watch. And one of the best features of the silver stainless Watch is the incredible versatility and how easy it is to dress up or down. Leather band + Hermès face = dress watch. Sport band + Nike face = leisure watch. Best of both worlds.

I think of the AW Hermes like it’s any other mechanical watch sold on Hermes dot com, which also would never include Nike branding.

But - unlike those „real“ Hermès watches - while you were rocking the Nike face on the Apple Watch Hermès no-one could ever tell it‘s an Hermès Watch, so no harm done to the brand.

Sure I just mean this is how I think Hermes thinks about the whole thing. Een eetz soul, eet eez from Fronce and not Oree-gone.

Also Nike is one of the most valuable brands on earth and more recently has gotten into couture-ish-priced nonsense. They are easily to normal sports what Hermes is to horse sports. That said Hermes owners shouldn’t hesitate to get Gold SS or Ti for their Nike bands.

It’s also conceivable that Nike didn’t want to make the watch faces available on the Apple Watch Hermes as it might imply that there is a relationship between Nike and Hermes.

Why would someone put a Nike watch face on Hermes? The person who doesn't care at all about who knows they have a Hermes watch ? Oh me....

Id use a Nike face for workouts/gym then swipe right back to Hermes.

TBH in the 7 years of owing a Hermes AW, nobody has cared I own Hermes. Like...nobody lol. Took me a very long time to accept that people dont care what clothes, shoes, etc you wear unless they are sneakerheads etc.

Says the dude who has a stock apple face with an Hermes band.

Can we please not do this?

Apple said Nike faces would be available on ALL watches.

There are some cool Nike faces and yeah, they said all watches would have them. Wouldn’t be against it happening.

Look at the “New Faces” interface on watch when adding…maybe they want to wait until the “New Hermes Faces” and “New Apple Faces” have their time and then they’ll slide in the “New Nike Faces” at N when the time is right?

Or they add it later like this because it was a mistake?

They since updated the release notes to say “more” Apple Watches. They shouldn’t have said “all” watches on the video.

Likely it’s a contractual matter. Nike and Hermes retain key rights to intellectual property that they license to or co-develop with Apple. The Nike faces are not “standard” Apple faces so likely both Nike and Hermes would have to agree for the faces to appear on Hermes watches.

A subtle distinction is that since Series 6 the Hermes is the only one with the true Space Black DLC finish.

Nope. Hermes is a competitor to Nike. We won’t see Nike faces on Hermes watches unless they do a partnership. (Their competitor list is incredibly long)

So funny 😂 because it‘s probably true …

This is the real answer.

Hermes makes sneakers and “athletic wear” as well.

Wow, good point, I didn‘t know that.

I just wonder how smart it is for Hermès to think/act like this. Next time when I upgrade my main Watch, it will very probably be a SSS again. Now I get to choose between regular SSS with all watch faces except the Hermès ones and Hermès SSS with all watch faces except the Nike ones, but for a lot more €/£/$. Also, Metropolitan just stole all the (dim) thunder Circulaire ever had … Looks like Hermès lost an easy future sale they could have had with a Watch that finally had absolutely ALL faces Apple released (ever).

other considerations on 22-23 straps, for the Attelage series version 42/44/45 nothing was presented, perhaps they realized that it does not sell enough. the diagonal H series presented only in 42/44/45, last year the Circuit was there for all versions, I don't think it had the hoped-for sale. As previously mentioned, the Nylon series also comes with a single piece. Now they are re-proposing the classic versions (Navy, Orange) at size 45. Last year there was the largest number of introductions between the two versions, this year on average, but I believe that for the future, they will present a series each year in conjunction with the presentation of the watch.

interesting note, at least for me, not being a frequent visitor to the apple shop, in Milan Piazza Liberty store, they do not sell Hermès straps and can only keep them on display. maybe it was known to you, but not to me.

practical question, which of you has a Hermès nylon strap that has been used for at least a year and that has discolored near the hardware?

That’s super weird they would have the vitrine and not sell them! You’d think the small number of Apple stores with Hermes means they’d all sell them. Sure it isn’t just because we’re in between seasons?
