If Bandbreite doesn’t list it as new, I don’t bother myself trying to prove him wrong. And at this point the “NEW” label can mean “we didn’t sell this last season.”

Thanks again for that website though. I might have to return my Ultra, as much as I like it and keep my 7 Hermes watch. Just love that watch face so much.The one I sent you is a ‘hack’. It’s basically a png with some hands and stuff superimposed I think. It works the same because it’s simple etc. the one above is too complex to create in the same way. I had a good old search and was trying to find a noir gradient for my SS but that doesn’t exist either
I could be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am, but I believe the “new” part is only for the hardware lugs. The Bandbreite app lists two different model numbers on this Noir Single Tour, one for 40mm and another for 41mm.
As an example below, you can see the difference in the width (not edge to edge, but the depth of the lug into the adapter cavity of the watch case) of the 42mm lug on the Fauve Barenia released in 2016 vs the 44mm lug on the Noir Swift released in 2020. But that is just my guess.

To each his own, but I find the Ultra so butt ugly. I think the S7 and S8 look so much nicer than the Ultra.
I don't know but for poops and giggles I went through the upgrade process and Apple offered me only $150 for a trade in (Hermes S7 to Hermes S8). I honestly would pay a price you're comfortable with, but I wouldn't pay $200-300 for a used S7 than not saving that money and getting an S7.
Yeah Apple don’t seem to differentiate between a Hermes and normal watch when it comes to trade in. I guess it’s basically a SS cellular watch with a $400 strap which you’re not giving back.

So I couldn’t resist and picked up an Ultra on Friday. I put on my Cuivre Hermes strap from my series 8 and I like the look. Granted, on my small wrist it’s a little loose and if I keep the Ultra I might have Hermes punch another hole into the Cuivre band but I hardly notice the space black lugs.

Buy the Hermes because you like the bands and the faces. The resale value sucks. Remember there is a $211 premium just for the Watch face. You won’t get that back.From what I understand they don’t really keep their value. I would put a normal one into an online trade in platform, then put the Hermes. Calculate any % difference if there is any.
Then look on eBay for guide prices for a 5 (or Hermes if you find any) and make a guesstimate from there.
As im sure you know people who want hermes ‘typically’ want the brand and latest thing, their interest decreases dramatically as the series you’re selling gets older in generation.
The bands hold their value better, especially if they’re old and no longer available, some people have a ‘got to have the whole collection’ illness/interest
Edit: sorry, totally misread the question, you were asking about buying a S7 not selling a S5.

I disagree. The Ultra is so overwhelming no one will notice the lugs. See my similar post with the Cuivre.

I like it for a fall/winter band. The Bleu is navy in some light and more electric in daylight, the Rouge Sellier is like a metallic brown in daylight. It pairs perfectly with a lot of outfits.

There are a couple listed on eBay from Japan with either very high asking prices or very used condition. I have one that I’ve been considering selling in good condition for below retail. Hit me up if interested.

Just got a callback from apple about the replacement band, same old story, sent round in circles and this time he couldn't even see it in the list for any watch.
All jokes aside this is pretty ridiculous for a watch this expensive. If the original (sports) band gets damaged there's basically a hit and miss chance of getting another one. I've raised a complaint because, frankly, it's not about the band anymore. I expect better than having to call over and over and getting inconsistent answers.
EDIT: While I'm at it I'll raise it with Hermes as well.
