^^ Personally I’m too invested in the Hermes bands to keep the Ultra even though I think it’s refreshing to see a different looking AW. While it’s a classic design, the S8 looks so blah compared to the Ultra. I really think the S9 will see a design change that will have similarities to the Ultra, and the current bands should work with it. So I’m waiting until next year before I dive in on a (hopefully) redesigned AW.

I wish I could get my Series 7 Hermes face on my Ultra watch. Really like the Hermes faces I had, which was a classic look and would great on the Ultra. Keep the Hermes or return the Ultra. A tough choice, as I don’t need them both. Really like the Ultra though and feels like something new from Apple.

at the risk of being complicit in your Frankenstein you can find a replica of the plain black face here that downloads into the watch app ;)

Asking to the experts: as a buyer, what would you value as a "good price" for a 41 mm Hermes Series 7, used but mint conditions?
For the right price I think I would switch my SS series 5 for an Hermes series 7...but I've never had an Hermes watch before and I'm not informed on their value. Thanks.

From what I understand they don’t really keep their value. I would put a normal one into an online trade in platform, then put the Hermes. Calculate any % difference if there is any.

Then look on eBay for guide prices for a 5 (or Hermes if you find any) and make a guesstimate from there.

As im sure you know people who want hermes ‘typically’ want the brand and latest thing, their interest decreases dramatically as the series you’re selling gets older in generation.

The bands hold their value better, especially if they’re old and no longer available, some people have a ‘got to have the whole collection’ illness/interest :)

Edit: sorry, totally misread the question, you were asking about buying a S7 not selling a S5.

My last two words of the day where just ‘unhinged’, and ‘zany’… hmm how much data can these sensors pull from your body anyway….

Tested the lugs on the Ultra with Bleu Lin (45mm). It's really not that big of a deal deal.. the mismatch between SS and Titanium is more noticeable:

PS: I'm also a strong believer in terms of not putting SB on SS and vice versa.

I think sometimes SB on SS (when using a very dark band) or other way round (when using a light band) looks like a design thing if you don’t know or think about Apple Watch. Many non Apple watches mix Black and silver for example. The way the lugs fit is also very clean. The thing that lets it down is the buckle though.

With titanium and SB mix it looks less like that, but with SS and titanium it doesn’t look intentional by design and looks like a mismatch. The materials are too close in colour to offer contrast, but not close enough to match.

Just my opinion.

Edit: I should also say it’s a bit like looking at rings and fixtures in pictures you obsess about tiny details that are huge in pictures pointed at that area, but you are very far away from in real usage.

Thank you! That is really neat. I could not find it on the site, but have you seen this Hermes watch face? This is the one I use the most.

Ordered my first nylon Hermes band today. rouge sellier/bleu

For those that have it, how do you like it??

All my Hermes bands are leather and I thought this would be nice for a change and look good with my SBSS Hermes 8. I don’t care about mismatched lugs. Looking for a daily band so I don’t mess up my leather bands. Thought I would give this one a shot.

the SBSS looks really well with any single-colored band. I did also rock the ‚stormtrooper‘ look with the white sport band.
The only mismatch is with bands with SS connectors.

I'm sorry, but this is awful. It's like watching a werewolf wearing a lace dress.

I was afraid that the SB would only fit with dark bands, but with this starlight solo loop I think it's great 👀
It's all very subjective really, but I like it 😊

This looks really nice! Hermes watches can wear any sport band, really. I tend to wear mine primarily with Hermes Bands or Classic Buckle bands because it's the only SS watch I have, with which I can use my CB collection. I'm a lug ayatollah, i.e. I cannot wear SS lugs on Ti or Alum or even Ceramic, that would drive me crazy.

Indeed! I very much enjoy my Hermes with leather links, which I think pair well with the watch!

The one I sent you is a ‘hack’. It’s basically a png with some hands and stuff superimposed I think. It works the same because it’s simple etc. the one above is too complex to create in the same way. I had a good old search and was trying to find a noir gradient for my SS but that doesn’t exist either :(

Contrast or dark works great I think. When you get somewhere between those two it’s hit and miss.

You can’t get more contrast than black and white so it looks amazing. Any other solid colour would too.

I have it - my second Jumping. Love it. My daily driver and only wear the leather bands for 'best'.

I use it to workout, or do anything. IMO still looks premium and I am not so paranoid about ruining it as it so versatile. I think you'll love it.

Thank you for letting me know. That’s what I want to do save my leather bands. And use this as a daily driver along with my Hermes sports bands. I have the SBSS so i think it will look good. I saw your pics when I went back searching the thread. So excited to get it. It’s already preparing for shipping. So hopefully I will get it sooner than the 29th.

Did anyone notice there is a "new" 41mm Noir Swift leather single tour? Looks no different to me from the original 40mm version. It also shows that the new Noir single tour is exclusive to the smaller watch, even though Apple is still selling the old 44mm Noir single tour.
