Rocking and sleeping with Ultra + Swift. Doesn't even leave a mark on my wrist when i wake up.
Nice! I have the S8 and Ultra and I keep going for the Ultra, not sure why I have the S8 itself. And a collection of 6 hermes bands so far. The black double tour is especially solid and sporty.

I was itching toward the 45mm double tour with the metal rings, but sanity remind me that I can't rock that. My first Hermes is the Deployment Buckle, when asked by the rep if I wanted "the gadget", I should have said no.

But after a few weeks, those exclusive Hermes faces do grow on you.

Those Hermes faces (especially Circulaire) are why I can’t quit my S8 even when I get drawn to my Ultra. After a few hours the S8 goes back on and just feels so upscale elegant.

None of the Clockology facsimile of Hermes faces satisfy. Agreed.

Oh I tried so hard to convince them to sell me the 45mm floor model when I was there to no avail. Because they aren’t actually in their system there’s no way to actually sell them. They are going to contact me though if any do become available.
Please let us know when they do!

So you meant the exclusive Madison Ave bands are coming back in stock at some point? Love to know when they do

I've been slowly losing my mind bouncing between an S8 Hermes and my Ultra and even though the latter gives amazing battery life and a fresh design, I still think the S8 Hermes is just so much more refined and polished. I think this is an example for me where aesthetics are going to supersede utility. I've tried getting by with Hermes bands on the ultra and it looks fine until I start to notice the speaker holes; the orange action button; and then it starts to look a little incongruent with my typical manner of dress, not to mention it constantly catches on the sleeves of my shirts/sweaters/jackets now that it's winter outside. And it's funny, I often clamor for a fresh design but in the case of my SS AW, the consistency since the S0 is almost a reflection of a timeless aesthetic rather than something in search of a novel design.

I would miss the battery desperately though.

I have a Hermes black S7 and I love it. I have 3 single tour leather bands and 3 jumping bands. I wish there was an easy to use Stainless band with a simple fold over clasp. I find the deployment clasps difficult. All things considered, I love the Watch and Hermes bands.

I’m guessing it would feel wasteful to only use the Ultra for working out and outdoor adventures, etc? My Starlight is thusly relegated and low-key neglected, but I wanna say I’d have a hard time doing that to the fresh as hell Ultra

I got my first Hermes watch this year after falling in love with the lucky horse face. I've avoided Hermes in the past as I didn't think the bands would fit and I was right - the smallest size was still too loose for my 130 mm wrist. Fortunately the Apple leather link bands work and actually look very nice with the watch. I also have a series 8 aluminum with LTE which I use when I think there is a risk of scratching the Hermes or when LTE might be useful. I have been upgrading yearly, but plan to keep the Hermes for at least 2 and possibly more years. The Ultra has no appeal for me as it is too big for my wrist and I have no need for all its sport functions.

Totally reasonable but the Hermes serves all purposes for the most part. My workouts are 6-7 days a week and are either 1 hour outdoor runs or ~1ish hour gym sessions without my phone (i.e. LTE or WiFi). I'm not diving or rock climbing or anything, so the battery is really the main draw. I even find the flat screen to be aesthetically less pleasing than the curved display even though it's a bit more functional.

Does the Ultra feel much lighter than stainless steel for workouts?

Unless you’re doing wild stuff like rock climbing or marathon’s I feel the 8 is best for 99% of people. The ultra really was created for a unique group of people and it’s surprising to see so many people going for a chunky device when they are not exactly the target demographic of the ultra.

Not a huge difference. The steel actually feels more solid than the titanium (which is certainly rugged). I think it’s the smaller size lending some feel of higher density. I’ve never had an issue with stainless steel durability.

I will say battery isn’t terrible with the S8 still; just did an airpods+watch walk with the dog for 1 hour streaming downloaded music; i have low power mode when working out enabled, and that 1 hour walk drained 20%.

I think that even for a marathon a S8 will do fine.
