The connector of my jumping band is loose (one of the screws doesnt hold anymore, even when tightened).

Is it possible to order an replacement connector somewhere?
Mine did the same, apparently the Jumping Tours have this issue, which is odd since it seems the same lug as the leather bands. It was a pain to get fixed. I went to the Hermes Store on Wall Street in NYC after Hermes phone customer service said I could go anywhere. Sales associate there looked at me like I was crazy when I brought it in and said I had to bring it to an Hermes store that sold Apple products, which was Meatpacking or Madison.

Went to Meatpacking and they said it could take a while. I have to say I know I wasn't walking in to buy a Birkin bag, but the customer service was kind of lacking. Anyway, they took it and it ended up taking 3 weeks to get back.

I mean OEM lugs alone are worth something. The buckle is also good to have lying around if you need one. Not everyone is into modifying bands, but having the parts on hand is better than not. Chargerstore sells the lugs for $29, and those aren't even Hermes. (not that theres much difference.)

Now you’ve got me wondering - maybe I should? The box & pouch would be good - I recently bought a Blue Indigo without any packaging (I think I posted about it here), so if nothing else I could get the pouch for that?

Hmmm….
If it comes with a box, yeah there's at least $50 value here even if the leather is trash. Maybe just barely, but sure.

What would you put on the silver lugs that can’t be done with a non-Hermes harvest yoink.

More importantly what would you put on the buckle?

I went to the store in Hamburg a few months ago. They were quite friendly but told me they would have to send it for repair to Paris and with a summer break this would take 2 months.

So back to the mission of fixing it myself. I realized i didnt had the right screwdriver before. One needs the PL2 pentalobe (0.9mm) which is only used for the Apple Watch, while I tried with the PL1 (0.8mm) before.
So far it seems to stay tight.

Many Hermès bands are currently not available in Germany. Does this hint at new bands or at a discontinued Hermès version? How is the situation in your country?

I've been away for a while. Noticed the rumor about a new/different band attachment mechanism that may be coming for the AW X in 2024. Was there much hand wringing here amongst the more avid collectors? Wondering what you all think. I wear my jumping 100% of the time (when I wear my AW) and was already thinking about selling my collection of Hermes leather bands. I may be that much more interesting in selling now.

I think Gurman is making stuff up. Apple tests a lot of things…

I’ll add that I’m of the camp that the Apple Watch (like a Rolex et al) never really needs to change its look, especially with the Ultra in the world now. Just give the series X a waterfall edge display, prob making it even rounder.

I also don’t get how the watch needs to get thinner (thus necessitating a shallower/thinner band) but also needs more battery size?

Does apple ever really need to break the paradigm of the nightly or bi-nightly charging on the non-Ultra?

This. I can’t even imagine where else they’d go. Certainly not changing the shape of the Watch. So what else could they do?

The thickness is fine. I don’t know why people want the watch to be thinner. Battery life works for me, so I don’t get that point either.

Battery life whining is just the primal reflex of all tech nerds … it‘s never enough. In reality, fast charging made this a complete non-issue for the Watch.

Not gonna lie, though … I would like the Watch to get thinner. I imagine it would be (even) more elegant that way. But that‘s personal preference.

In addition to the FW23 band refresh I am anxiously awaiting, I hope we get an additional watch face or, at the very least, some more colors for the existing faces including more Lucky Horse color combinations!
It would be mondo disappointing if they broke the streak of new Hermes faces. Still want a complex “horological” one (horse-ological?). Astrological signs or similar whimsy. Arceau typeface, I still want you too!

I'm with everyone else on the band connectors. I'm sure most, if not all, were thinking like me where an Apple Watch 10th anniversary would introduce an entirely new watch and band system. But when the Ultra came out last year, I was relieved to see the Ultra's compatibility with every band ever made (42mm and up). I can't see Apple shifting that with the Ultra's success and popularity after only two years.

Of course, this is Apple and a new band connector could happen. In which case, I would buy the Hermès Series 9 and keep rocking my Hermès bands for a few more years at least. Probably could go even longer.

Yes! Still hoping to see the fantastical Hermès rendition of a world clock face like this in some form on the Watch; the clock dial automatically positioned depending on the time zone you’re in and simply a turn of the crown to whirl it around and check the time in another zone with flourish.

I wonder if it’ll be band colors like circuit or color dump like lucky horse. Also would love new bands that match old lucky horse faces

Hopefully staples like Noir, Blanc, Navy, Fauve(!), etc., similar to the lower contrast Noir Circulaire face as to not make it too busy but some flourishes here and there; perhaps a “sheen” on the continents and zone dial similar to the Apple Cash/Card that shifts when you tilt the Watch, maybe a full screen color background gradient that’s either a hard line like the seconds hand in the Hermès Noir or Gradient faces or the soft gradient that shifts throughout the day like in the Craie/Rose & Craie Bleu Hermès faces. Would go well with the full-screen Watch OS 10 aesthetic and add a little more variety to the face every time you raise your wrist. Not an exacting skeuomorphic recreation of the watch—very much clean and digital as Hermès has always done it.

Though of course, all of the Hermès colors would be stunning, especially if utilized full-screen! Jaune, Bambou, Azalée… essentially every color in the standard Hermès face adapted and available on a face that actually customizes more than the seconds hand color for once.

Yeah the way Nike Bounce gives full bleed of every Nike face color ever (even the real Cargo Khaki) would be life-changing for Hermes.
