I still worry Arceau just isn’t digitizeable because it’s so thin. Not practicable as the made-up British word goes. Quadruple the PPI Tim!

Apple renders text on a way that makes it appear a little thicker and as long as it’s high contrast enough it should be fine.

Also, look at “PARIS” here and tell me again how larger numbers will be an issue 😂

You may be correct but for me the PARIS stamp is not the same as the numerals and an even font is not the same as a taper when it comes to pixels. That said they do look kind of even here:

One thing that’s for certain, Hermes is the main thing I care about for the Sep 12 event. Assuming the Nike bands will be limited or gone and nothing mindblowing in the main bands.

Also a good time to remember Hermes will likely delete all mention of Apple Watch from their online store in a few weeks…in the past it has not meant the end of Apple Watch Hermes, which by all reports is a very healthy business, and not even the end of random dead stock bands appearing in various Hermes online stores around the world later.

Noticed a new color leather being rolled out for men’s accessories/jewelry. In addition to ‘Vert Comics’, I’m now seeing some classic styles available in ‘Bleu Jean’. Can’t wait to see what happens with the Fall/Winter refresh!

The rumor that the band attachment would change stated that magnets would replace the current system. My thoughts on that: LOL

Gurman was either fed wrong info so Apple can find a leaker or the leak was misunderstood. Maybe a new band style that closes with magnets but no way a band would attach to the watch with magnets. They would have to be huge and heavy so it wouldn’t detach. And be a huge risk for pacemakers and those with hairy arms.

Getting excited for the launch!

Gurman claiming Apple is selling remaining Hermes bands for up to 90% cheaper to employees - is Apple moving away from leather from now on as they are discontinuing the leather cases & possibly Watch bands too:

They’ve always done 70% or so in the special deals portal. Perhaps 90% is one of the SKUs way above $340?

At the same time my wallet is pretty happy with my extant Hermes colex

I wonder if the vegan Hermes bands can prop up demand for the line

Gurman just tweeted that Apple is clearing out Hermes accessories internally at up to 90% off for employees with an Hermes Apple Watch.

Since they’re ending leather accessories this year, it falls into question their partnership with Hermes.

If Apple Watch Hermès leather band is discontinued, do you think the whole Hermès line will go as well? The jumping tours just don’t have the same appeal as the leather bands.

Will the existing leather bands go up in price as collector’s items?

Yeah not sure the nylon can sustain the buzz all alone

Found an article from 2021 where they were talking about new materials (https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2021/09/in-the-details-hermes):

"Despite this staunch adherence to tradition, Hermès will introduce a decidedly modern material this fall: mycelium leather. Developed in collaboration with the San Francisco-based biotech company MycoWorks, this “Fine Mycelium,” coined Sylvania by its creators, derives not from cattle but from mushrooms. Fournier insists that its quality and durability meet the same high standards of traditional leathers [...]"

If it ends, it was a nice run. 🥹🥹

Also, if it ends my decision to get the Ultra 2 will be made very easy.

On the other hand: we’ve had this discussion every year when all of the bands were sold out and there were some hints here and there (this year you could argue that making the Nike faces available means some sort of contract ends, etc.). But they’ve always continued this partnership, so fingers crossed! 🤞🏼
