So I'm absolutely not sure how to feel about this. This band could not be found anywhere in all of Southern CA for nearly a week, and the website has said to check availability today. I'm having my coffee and check this morning soon after 8am and lo and behold there is *1* of these but it's at the Apple Store in Irvine, 90 miles away. I buy it and then check again, sure enough, no more, it seemed to be the last one. I figure I'll drive up to OC tomorrow and pick it up and have a nice lunch somewhere by the beach, weather permitting.

Here it is seven hours later and I still don't have any pickup confirmation email and the order details still say your item will be ready shortly. Granted I know it's iPhone release day, the Apple Stores are likely veritable zoos, so either they're swamped and haven't processed my pickup yet, or their inventory system was wonky and the band isn't actually available there.

Should I be looking at this glass being half full or half empty?
Godspeed surviving the Spectrum, Dante couldn’t even properly render that store/mall in words

Abandon all hope ye who enter here?
It’s a pretty cube from the outside but you go in and it’s just ALL tables. No air. The mall itself is just a cookie-cutter Caruso jawn like the grove or Americana but also it’s like miles long. Park near Target not the benighted IMAX where i had a bad experience failing to see Oppenheimer.

I was remanded to pick up an iPhone there once and it was just this steady stream of people incensed they needed an appointment to even talk to a specialist but also people returning for their appointments and still having to wait.

I was not made to wait for too long, got to look at bands, but there’s also a dark comedic element to the long walk any employee has to make to retrieve anything…Irvine is a literal Pleasantville…

Good to know, I appreciate the insight! I've no plans to loiter, SoCal malls are a dime a dozen, I just want to collect my purchase and vacate the premises as quickly as possible. Of course this even assuming they have the band in store for me to actually pick up. This is the longest I've had to wait for a confirmation email. Could it be owed to the workers being collectively swamped, or is it a supply issue because inventory for this band is super limited? Who knows. I just hate not knowing.

This time of year they might be restocking on a Saturday who knows?

Anyone has an issue with horse face?
If watch screen goes off and you raise your hand again to check time for example - horse is not showing at all.

I believe the Kilim bands are the only Apple Watch bands that are Swiss Made, which adds a bit more of a unique twist to them. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

My Kilim Noir is due to arrive later today. So jealous of you all on the other side of the International Date Line.

It took me 30 minutes and a YouTube video to figure out how to buckle the thing. The precision on the stick piece and the other side doohickey is so on point that it looked like it was not meant to open at all. Once I figured it out and put it on... and put it on... and put it on... I can choose from too big or too small or too big. And it's heavy for me. I feel like I'm wearing the bracelet joey gave Chandler on Friends that time. I'm definitely returning it.

...so I went and picked another band about an hour and a half ago with a December ship date or same day pick up or delivery in SoCal and it's out for delivery already.

The deployment buckle is a bit finicky if you haven’t used it before.

I use the Fauve deployment on the 45mm regularly so I’m used to the weight.

Which other band did you go with?

sad, pretty sure the profit margins on the units that do sell mean the ones that get returned are just dumped in the trash.

Knowing Hermes, they’re probably burned or mulched.

I was thinking about getting the orange Kilim, but looking at my orange sport band, it’s so stained that I think I should stick to darker colors for the pricier bands. I wonder what material they’re using?

Honestly it doesn’t make sense to buy orange kilim if you already have orange sport band, but that’s my opinion.
By the way orange sport band that comes with the watch also has quite different material than Apple Original sport bands. Hermes sport band is close to quality and materials as Kilim

Whew! I was sitting there "I am smart. I AM!" lol.

I think I could have gotten used to it if it fit well but since it was loose being imbalanced made the weight more pronounced.

Toile H in Noir/Denim!
Also, at this point I'm convinced Apple asks "but can we make the arm hair even MORE pronounced?" when working on camera upgrades on the new PROs.

Or used as display models / try ons, recycled for parts or sold to employees for heavy discount.
