Ok, gotcha. 😊 Well I suppose the „value proposition“ of Hermès vs regular Watch is all about the straps and faces. In my experience they
do elevate the experience considerably, but how much that is worth to you (or how little you care about the difference because it‘s all chump change for you) is very much up to the individual buyer. Me personally, I will have to face that question (again) next year with the (presumable) re-design of the regular Series. Right now I‘m squarely in camp Ultra.
But you could ask the same question about mechanicals. Above a certain $ threshold, you pay for minimal differences at best (and name recognition / prestige the most). Why get a 8.000 $ (or 80.000 $) mechanical when a 2.000 $ mechanical will look 99% as nice (at least to the naked eye; and your eye is naked 99,99% of the time)?
In the end, wrist time is a limited ressource. If you decide that the functionality of the Apple Watch is so important to you that you‘ll wear it as your daily driver either way, why not get the best-looking, most luxurious one?
