So just to post this here in some random place, I had a Series 7 Hermes watch which I bought when the Series 7's first came out, but decided to go with the Ultra 2 when I upgraded around 15 months ago (mostly because of battery life). However, since getting the Ultra 2, I've lost a little over 70 lbs of weight, which puts me now at a normal BMI for I think the first time since childhood. Went from a high of 210 lbs to current weight of 137 lbs. Since losing the weight, my Ultra 2 has started to look and feel really bulky, which it didn't when I was, uh, fuller. Fuller in the waist, fuller in the face, and, of course, fuller in the wrists.
I put back on my Series 7 Hermes and showed my wife -- she said it looked far better on me than the Ultra 2 now. Unfortunately, the battery is pretty much shot. It will make it at most 6 hours at medium brightness with the AOD turned on, yet the battery health (somehow) still registers at 84%... which I don't believe for a second. So, it's pretty much useless to me as it can't even make it through a workday, let alone from morning to bedtime.
So, given the long story above, I decided to take this opportunity to buy a Series 10 Hermes with the Gold/Écru Toile H Single Tour band. Should arrive on Wednesday! I'm actually kind of happy that I'll be able to wear some of my older bands with silver hardware that didn't look right on my Ultra 2.
I would have skipped the Hermes and gone with just the regular Stainless, but since it doesn't exist anymore, and the finish on the standard Titanium doesn't match the silver hardware of all my old bands, I caved and bought the Hermes again. Traded the Series 7 Hermes in for it. Didn't get all that much, but at least it's a little something.
