You could attempt to remove the HomePod, reset it to factory settings, and then set it back up with your iPhone. This could resolve the problem.

0. Open Home App and remove accessory.
1. Unplug the HomePod, wait about 1 minute, and then plug it back in.
2. Hold the top home button and Siri will eventually inform you that it's resetting.
3. Add the HomePod back to your iPhone and check for updates.

I'm still not seeing it either. Phone says 12.0 is the latest software.

Did this full procedure, didn't work.

I've been trying to get it to show up with no luck all day. My friend has reported the same. What gives

It seems there is a bug in HomePod 12.0 version that prevents OTA updates. Update to HomePod 12.1 seems to work from version 11.
I have no idea how to fix this?

Yeah that answers my questions. I have 3 of them. One was running 11.something and the other two on 12.0. The first one updated and the others I cannot.
Oh well I guess we’ll have to wait for Apple to fix it. There aren’t any new features in this update anyway.

Screenshots or you guys are full of it.

I thought for the HomePod OS 12.0 update, you had to first update your iPhone to iOS 12.

No one is able to provide proof that they have installed HomePod OS 12.1.

Great, so if there's a bug in 12.0 that prevents OTAs, that's hilarious. No way to update it then. WTH Apple...
The kicker is that even resetting it doesn't change that! I mean I would have thought that's the whole point in restoring to factory settings

Right but if this is true about a bug with 12.0 preventing OTAs, then this will prevent ALL future software updates from being able to be installed on it, not just this one.

I don't see how they can fix a device with a software update that can't take a software update...

They will have to replace them then.

You are totally jumping the gun... just give it a day or so.

They will probably find the bug and work around it and push the new update so the bugged HomePods will see the new update and fix the bug at the same time.

Give it a few days. Strange there has been no official word however.

How would they push a new update if the bug itself is preventing updates from being pushed?
