I'm really confused - my HomePods are on 12.1 but the Home app is still saying they have an update waiting for them. When I tell it to update I just get the message 'Update Requested' but nothing happens.

Is the heavy Bass improved after the 12.1 update? I thought I could hear a difference on my solo Hpod, but on my stereo setup, it still seems too heavy after today's update? I need to test more... I'm getting some little stands to lift it off my AV console to maybe lessen the bass.
I got several Hpods very cheap. Stereo mode is so much better than solo! Too bad the pricing inhibits getting two.
I hate voice control so just load music I want on my phone and control it all from there.

Major Homepod WISH-- A fix for LAG and No Stereo from Mac - Homepod is useless for video, esp video editing. the lag time cripples any audio work. May not be fixable with Wifi audio, too bad. Give me a wired Hpod then!
I realize these were made to stream and use Apple services mainly, but such a great design and sound!

+ They sound very good from my phone where I can control it. esp in Stereo.

I upgraded from iOS 11 to iOS 12.1. Before update Siri would listen after it speaks (e.g. - I say 'Hey Siri', then say nothing, then Siri prompts me with 'Uh huh', then I say something (without Hey Siri) - and it would still listen and respond accordingly).
After upgrade to iOS 12.1 Siri no longer listens after saying 'Uh huh' - so I need to start over with 'Hey Siri'.

Does anyone (or everyone) see the same behavior on their HomePod?

Yes, I noticed this change with 12.0. I liked how Siri also would kind of grunt, with 'uh-huh'. I liked it. Unexpected. but I was a newbie to Homepod and Siri really. With 12.0 this was gone, as well as 12.1 .

I just tested it and it works as it used to for me.

Though if all you are trying to do is get an indication that Siri is listening, there is an option to have Siri play a sound when she is invoked. So maybe you could try that.

No. I liked the 'uh-huh'. I know we have the light display and tone indication. I turned on the tone indication...maybe that replaced the uh-huh! I'll have to turn tone off to see..
That did it. UH-HUH is back with No Tone.....You also get other initial Siri responses like hmm. The tone setting turns off all Siri initial responses it seems.

Hi, same problem here since 2 hours. I am still with iOS 12.1, but saying an update to 12.1 is requested.

Have you been able to solve the problem ?

Hi - after a few days the software update actually worked - though I have no idea why or why it took so long on 'Update Requested'...
