According to the advisor I just spoke to on the phone, none of their notes have been updated to indicate a 12.1 update for the HomePod has actually been issued

wait and see if anything happens today at 10:00 am PST when updates are typically released from apple.

I hoped this would fix the issue that Siri is not able anymore to find songs by lyrics anymore (UK user), but still no luck.

Heh, seems the original 12.1 update for 12.0 users was pointing to an internal Apple site, and not a public one. So it wasn’t a bug affecting OTA’s in 12.0 after all. Mine is updating now.

LOL

any noticeable changes so far?
Nothing yet, so no problems so far.

I'm hoping that some of the issues with staying connected to Apple TV will be worked out. My main concerns are related to how HomePod and AppleTv deal with the delay Airplay 2 introduces to the audio to keep everything synced.

Sometimes when watching a show on an app with commercials (NBC, ABC, etc..) the HomePods will disconnect during the commercial and not reconnect on its own after the commercial. I've noticed the behavior has been tweaked with each update. In the beginning the commercials would not play and it would go back to the program, which was fine with me.

In the beginning, the Reuters news app would get stuck and refuse to play at all, but now it's able to play by not outputting to HomePod.

I haven't had a chance to test any of this with Apple TV yet, but HomePod has been streaming Apple Music without a problem for me as usual.

Been testing 12.1 and cant find any improvements? Anyone else found any

In shortcuts it no longer says, "Shortcut says" before it speaks anything the shortcut wants to say. Massive improvement. Also at the end of running shortcuts it now says "Ok" instead of "Done". Though it seems to me it would be better if it didn't say anything at all.

It still says, "Running your shortcut" when it runs a shortcut, which is annoying.

Good catch!

I hope they have fixed up the home kit support. These things fail to control my hue bulbs about 70% of the time. Pretty pathetic. All other devices control flawlessly.
