Try what he said above. That worked like a charm for me.

Now my concern is the no backup issue. I hate that I'd probably have to back up to iTunes before upgrading. (Snobbish OTA lover here)

Thanks for the tip, but that was not the issue for me, iOS9.1 has not been downloaded on the phone. When I check SW update it says "download and install". I also checked my storage under "mange storage" but 9.1 has not been downloaded to the phone.

Good to hear it worked for you, and yes, you probably need to bite the bullet and plug your phone in to that dusty old usb port and go to iTunes;)

So far, the 9.1 beta has worked fairly well, I was hoping to go back to 9.0 final version just to see if it fixed any of the lag etc that I was experiencing in the betas, but completely overlooked the whole downgrade thing. Oh well, it's running ok so far so it's nothing I will lose sleep over.

I updated to 9.1 because I was getting an annoying beta warning pop up every time I unlocked my phone. Does anyone know if a backup done with 9.1 can be restored to a new 6s+ that is coming?

I was having the same problem with iOS 9.1 beta still showing up even after deleting the profile. It was because the update was already downloaded no ready to install. If you go to the manage storage section and delete the download, then iOS 9.0 will show up.

Those of you that had iOS 9.1 beta 1, did you downgrade to the official 9.0 release? If so, how's performance? 9.1 beta 1 lags at random times and I never had this issue on iOS 8.4.1 so I hope 9.0 resolves this issue.

Since I was stupid enough to delete my 8.4.1 backup, I will stay at 9.1 beta until it's released (I don't dear to try ipsw). Does anyone have any idea when 9.1 will be released?

For everyone who wants to downgrade from iOS 9.1 to 9 and only has a 9.1 backup simply change the Info.plist "Product Version" to 9.0 in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/<latest_backup>. Then open iTunes and you should be able to restore from that backup, worked for me :)

I forced an update through option-click update. I didn't lose my data. There are no guarantees here...you could lose data, cause a ripple effect that eventually causes the universe to cease as we know it...who knows.

I did the same on my Windows machine using shift-click and "upgraded" my 9.1 Beta to 9.0 on my 5s. All data and settings intact. Make sure to get rid of the beta profile before you do it. I did it after the fact and it wanted to bring me back to 9.1 beta. I deleted the profile, rebooted and now I'm on 9.0. :)

It's an hidden folder, you should use Finder "Go to Folder" in "Go to" menu (I think it's like this for EN language) and then paste "~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup" without the quotes.

Gotya. It shows up as 1.0 for me.

So what if my last backup was on iOs 9.0 GM? I'm trying to downgrade to the final release of 9.0 since I hear it's actually smoother than GM. I renamed my backup that was in the hidden mobile sync folder just in case. But i've never synced or backed up anything from 9.1. It's only been 4 days... just going to export pictures. What should I do?

The final release is a newer build than the GM, so it isn't a downgrade. You should be fine with that backup. You can also update OTA.

So if I'm currently on 9.1 with no syncs, and no backups other than 9.0 GM from a few days ago ...the method is to download final 9.0 ipsw, option + restore to 9.0 GM, rename backup to what it was originally & restore to it, then update to final from there? or is there a shorter way around this thats flawless (not sketchy). Sorry just wanna make sure I'm going about this exactly in the right way with no spiders lurking around.
