I don’t know I‘m just used to it now. I’ve had the XS max, 11 pro max, 12 pro max and now the 13 pro max. Before that I had every plus sized iPhone starting with the 6 plus expect for the 8 plus because I got the X that year. Before having the plus sized iPhones I used samsung galaxy note phones from 2012- 2014. So I’ve basically been using larger phones for the last 10 years and I‘m so used to them. I’m a female and carry a purse 99.9% of the time so it just doesn’t matter. If I have pockets I put it in those if I don’t have my purse. I have small hands but I like big phones. The year that I opted for the iphone X over the iPhone 8 plus I was miserable because it was too small and I struggled to type on it.

I had the 13 Pro and then switched to the Pro Max. At massive 5'6 (and a half...!), my hands aren't big. However, I couldn't comfortably type one handed on the 13 Pro, so i wasn't loosing anything by going up in size. Personally, I think the smaller 13 Pro is a heavy phone, so it's not that much of a weight increase to go max. I also use dual sim, so I'm actually saving the weight of a second phone. The battery life is just amazing on the max model. I also seem to use my ipad much less than I did.

I go to the gym at least daily. It fits easily in the phone pockets of lycra lined shorts in a slim case. If i'm doing weights, then i tend to just throw it on the floor between logging sets (in a slim pitaka case & it still looks immaculate). If i go running outside, i leave it at home and use my cellular apple watch with beats fit earpods - because it really does feel like taking an ipad for a run!

The biggest iPhone I’ve owned was the 8+ and I had 2 years putting up with its awkward size. It was a great phone on the whole and the best I have owned to date in terms of performance and battery life. However, now I’ve had the iPhone 12 for nearly two years I could not go back to a huge phone again. I value the portability too much and don’t miss the inconvenience of having to take the phone out of my pocket every time I sit down or the feel of carrying such a big phone. I guess I coped with it, but won’t own another. The 6.1” is plenty big enough for me and for bigger tasks I have an iPad anyway.

I love the Max editions, when I had the 11 series I tried to get the better hand forming one being the 11 Pro and the screen size I just ultimately couldn't do. Anytime I held my wife's 11 PM I would just get a little annoyed by myself for ordering the wrong one (that's how I ended up getting the 11 Pro and just tried to stick with it).

As for how I keep it on me...Back pocket. I typically wear slim jeans and the phone fits fine in my front pockets, but it is much more comfortable in my back pocket then if I am sitting somewhere I just take it out and put it on the table or just leave it in my back pocket. For the gym I just place it smartly under the bench/chair that I am using in the off chance that I need to drop the weight like dumbbells I do not want the phone to of course crack. Never really been much of a runner so I don't have to worry about that, but for like hikes and such just in my backpack typically with either Airpods or a speaker being used (depends how popular the trail I am hiking is)

Female. Small hands. 8+ and then 12 Pro Max. Love the large phones! Love viewing content on them. Just prop my iPhone on my lap.

Don't own a "purse" and my clothes don't have functional "pockets." But I have an Apple Watch cellular so I rarely take my iPhone outside the house (only when I know I'll have a long wait.

The Apple Watch is perfect for walking, working out, etc. I even use it to listen to audiobooks while water jogging in the pool.

Personally I came to despise my 13 Pro for being as heavy as it is - to say nothing of the Pro Max. I "downgraded" to the Mini (they tell me it's a downgrade but I don't miss my Pro at all).

We mocked Apple for pursuing thin-and-light for so long and I'm afraid they listened.

Male, and generally carry 13PM in front pocket or back pants pocket. I walk with it a decent amount (for reference: average over the last 3 months is 7.7 miles/day). The size and weight have never been a problem while walking or going up and down stairs. The phone's great, never bothersome during normal daily activities.

That said, I've started integrating running into my workout routine, and it bothers me a lot when I run. But everything does. My keys bother me too, as would a smaller phone.

I have an Apple Watch, but I can't stream via the watch (no cellular). I think my solution will be picking up a cellular watch this year and leaving the 13PM behind when going for a run. Getting rid of the keys will be harder...perhaps it's time for a smart lock.

SoOo… this year I’m considering moving up from the 13P to a 14PM. I’ve owned larger models before, but up until the 13P, I never noticed the weight difference as much as I did last year. The size doesn’t bother me, I have medium sized hands with long fingers.

I’m seriously wondering how the female users that have Pro Max models cope, especially if they don’t carry a purse all the time.

And for the gentlemen/females that go to the gym and carry it for more physical activities, does the size eventually become unnoticeable?

It used to be you could order a model on launch and not have to worry about other models being in stock. It would be easy to try the larger size, if you didn’t like it, go to an Apple Store and trade for the smaller size. But now with shortages and supply issues, you’re kinda stuck with what you order.

I’m not really one to order both sizes just to try. Mostly because I don’t want to deny a fellow Apple lover the chance to get one on launch day, just because I ordered two for the sake of it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! 👊😃👍

Swapped to a 12 max then 13 max after the 11 pro then standard 12, won't be going smaller again, even my wife has a 12 max, and has never once complained about weight or size coming from a XR.

Check out this website. It’s been very helpful to me in the past. It helpful to add your current phone and/or one you’ve used before, and then add the phone you’re thinking about getting. You can add up to three. It’ll help you to get a reference point for phone size:

Honest question, does anybody read other peoples opinions on what size phones they prefer and actually get any influence from it whatsoever? These threads pop up every year and I was curious if anybody has bought a big or small phone based on what a few strangers have said here.

It’s a good starting point especially if you’ve never owned one or live in a place with no return policy. Often times it takes longer than the standard two weeks to know if a phone fits in every aspect of your lifestyle. Never hurts to get a different perspective especially now that the 14 series is on the rise with yet again another weight increase.

I had an 8 plus before my 13pro max and tbh if I do buy another iPhone which is unlikely I’d go for a smaller one .

The issue I have is the bigger ones are longer but not wide enough . So it’s a lot of wasted screen in my usage .

Battery was great when I first got it , due to software updates it’s now not so impressive despite having 100% battery 🔋 life

Currently using a iPhone 12pm and been considering going to a 14p. my gf got a leather case for her 13p and being able to move all around that device while holding it was great. I love the screen and battery of the pro Max but even with my big hands it isn't a great one handed device, which if I am in bed I tend to use it that way. now that I am working from home I dont have much use for the bigger screen. if apple introduces some UI features that are screen size specific then maybe I'll stick with the PM. I have a 16 inch MBP for work, a 13 inch for personal use and a tablet, its safe to say browsing content on my iPhone is the least desirable.

I think if you game, read a lot, or just do any form of heavy media consumption the PM is gonna be a safe bet. I've just grown frustrated of handling it, it isn't seamless, I am always aware I have this huge phone in my hand lol im excited to go back to the pro. if it doesn't work then ill just go pm for the 15 or 16

For those that have gone from a max to a pro is the typing annoying being smaller? I make enough mistakes on a max lol

i had plus/max phones for years but returned the 12PM last year because I got annoyed by its weight.

It took a little time to adjust to the smaller size but the same is true when trying a larger phone. So it’s a all a matter of getting used to it.

Thinking about going back to Pro Max although loved having a smaller phone when I got rid of my 12PM

Weight has never worried me I don’t walk around with phone in pocket all day, wife has 12 max it's a bit lighter than the 13 max I have, and 14 max rumoured to be heavier again.

I am a pretty petite female and I started getting the pro max phones with the 11 and have had pro maxs every year since without an issue. When I got my first max phone the first week or two I thought it was really large and I wasn’t sure if it’d like it, but after that I totally got used to the size and it became a non-issue.

As far as the the gym I carry my phone from machine to machine without issue, as long as I have somewhere to sit it out of my way it’s not an inconvenience to me.

I do generally carry a wallet or purse that the phone fits in, but even if I don’t have my purse for some reason I’m usually ok carrying my phone around in my hand.

Now that I’m used to the pro max phones I don’t think I want to go back to smaller phones at least for right now, I’m happy with the iPhone pro max and plan to stick with that size phone in this upgrade too.

I moved from a 12 Pro to a 13 Pro Max. The difference in size is definitely noticeable. The 13 P.M. takes up 80% of my dress pants front pocket. My jeans pocket seems to fit ok.

I go for walks with the phone. It is definitely noticeable but it is not uncomfortable.

The reason I jump from a 12 Pro to a 13 Pro max is because of the larger screen. I brought a 13 Pro Max for my wife and like the larger screen.
