Don't think they said much in terms of long press, just that rich notifications would be available on other devices, and supposedly that's thru sliding the notification to the left and using the "View" action there.

Oh lame. I thought someone said they were going to do it via long press a la Instagram. I think it would have been fairly easy to implement. Oh well i guess.

I too am somewhere between "meh" and "awesome" - I'm not enthusiastic but also not excited. I've installed it on an iPad Air 2 and Pro and an iPhone 6S and 6S+.

My hits are that it's fast and responsive for my needs and I'm REALLY looking forward to how devs dig into the extensibility hooks. I also like some of the interface changes as I'm a big and nearsighted guy. And I also like the new Mail app changes, and am waiting to see if there's some devs that take advantage of the back-end hooks in the sync engine.

My misses are the waste of so much space in the iPad interface, but I'm not stressing about this too much as I rarely take too much time in the iOS interface as I'm living in apps anyways. Niggling little things in Siri's back-end bug (yep, a pun...) me - like "Call mom at home on speaker" gets the "Which number do you want me call?" with the numbers listed while "Call mom on speaker at home" works perfectly leads me to believe that Apple still hasn't fixed Siri's parsing engine. I've written this here elsewhere - the new/old Maps app is still a new shade of lipstick on a pig - Apple needs to cut TomTom/Teleatlas loose, this coming from a civil engineer who's platted hundreds of projects and designed/constructed more miles of roads and seen so, so, so many errors in the Teleatlas/Apple option it, to me, is almost criminal (I've notified them of several roadway closures due to washouts/new construction that still aren't changed, and I notify my DOT connects that I've notified Teleatlas and Apple of the errors as well...); FWIW, Google Maps ain't that great either in this regard, but they're more responsive in getting fixes dialed in - they're both wanting to automate this process, but it just doesn't work that way in the real world...

My "wonder" - some of loved the interface of iOS 6. Some of loved the interface of iOS 7/8/9. Some of loved the interface of iOS 10. So, Apple, give us themes of this mothertrucker - we have emojis up the wazoo, now give us a theme-changing option!

Overall I like it not without a few minor annoyances with the UX/UI.

I think the music controls should still be included in the control center primary window along with the control center being customizable.

Don't understand why the default drop down is for the notification page not the widgets. I wish there was a way to set it to widgets by default.
Perhaps because of the left swipe from home screen gets you to the widgets. Not sure but I think that is easier than the swipe down from the top middle anyway. So basically top swipe for notifications and left swipe for widgets. If happen to be in notifications you can get to widgets pretty easy.

The new music app is hideous and an absolute regression on functionality from something which was pretty much perfect.
What a waste.

I want to swipe once. I know swiping left gives you widgets. I think the user should be able to decide which page is the default.

Oh right, this is Apple. They always think they know best.

The GM is still buggy and laggy for me on an Air 2. Messages app still crashes sometimes, and in multi tasking windows, it lags when you swipe to see all apps opens.

Music app is still buggy also, if you set your font to be bigger, the name of the track did not show entirely. Quick reply still a little bugged as well.

Even if you like iOS 10, I recommend to not update day 1. Too much bug and glitches here and there.

I agree with what someone else said, the new navigation banner in Messages takes up too much space on my SE.

I don't like the new notifications 'card" design. There's too much wasted space.

There are design and consistency issues all over the place. In Apple Music, the 'Downloaded' button partially covers the ellipsis button. NC always resets to notifications.

As I'm typing this, I'm still experiencing the bug where, when I type punctuation and hit space, the keyboard doesn't change back to letters. Is that even a bug?

Overall, an awesome update that I highly recommend for at least 6s, 6s Plus, and SE. Although, I did prefer the design of iOS 5.

Losts of wasted space in widget view. First time ever my battery life is noticeable worse, never had problem with non-beta updates before. And tons of clutter at the bottom of iMessages.
Yeah seems like my battery life is worse too

Is the behaviour of closing apps that were located in folders a bit different? I feel like in iOS 9, you'd go straight to the home screen, and in iOS 10 you go the last folder opened.
Nope, it always went back to the folder for me, unless I opened another app or switched apps then pressed the home button. Otherwise, if I opened an app from a folder, then pressed the home button, I'd be taken back to the folder. I actually find that really annoying. I'd much rather it take me to the main screen. I mean, why assume I want to go back to the folder? Rather presumptuous if you ask me.. lol.

I wanted to vote that it is awesome. But having used it on one device and not the other. I really do not 'feel' the difference when I just have to actually use it. I don't pick up my iPad going 'oh yah, i just got reminded this is all new', it's just an iOS9 feeling. Not complaining. But it's not like when we went from ios7 to io8 or ios8 to 9 even. It really is worth the name iOS10 for various reasons, but I would have believed them just fine if they told me this was 9.5 and we just got it a bit early.

I am liking it. The battery life on this GM is back to iOS 9.3 levels. I am not facing any stuttering issues on my 6S Plus.

Definitely a worthy GM candidate.

But there are shi*loads of Jetsam events in diagnostic logs which can be found under Settings -> Privacy -> Diagnostic & Usage

I got to say I am underwhelmed. Guess I was expecting a lot of new features and options but after tinkering with it for a little bit, I gotta say I am underwhelmed.

Your thoughts?
After running all the betas, and now the GM, I'm like "meh" It will be fun for users trying for the first time, but already looking for something new

I'm still discovering changes from iOS 9.x, many of which are buried under settings. I'm also distinguishing between bugs that I assume will eventually be squashed and feature/UI changes. No significant bugs for me so far. As for other stuff, I find that many of the displays are easier for me to read than they were, which is good for my older eyes. I have several accessibility settings turned on, but they seem to have more of an effect in iOS 10.

Out of curiosity, which ones do you use and why?
[doublepost=1473516251][/doublepost]And maybe it might just be my usage, but battery life has been horrendous the last few builds.

It's interesting, in similar types of threads back in iOS 9.0 and iOS 8.0 release days there have been various people saying similar things about those.

Maybe iOS release excitement flip-flops between iPhone and iPad between releases.

If that makes sense.

We're not born with all the knowledge, and all start somewhere. This conversation however is at its end. I appreciate your feedback and extra explanation.
