I seriously want the piano black. Even if it's at a premium. It makes the design fresh again. I don't complain over the 6/6S design, as it's one of the most solid jobs Apple has done in a long time. It's sturdy, functional and beautiful. So just having a new color makes it even greater.

Even though these leaks look legit, I have a hard time imagining a dark black and piano black because they're so similar. Maybe the glossy black is only for a pro model.

I wonder if it's DLC or just a glossy coating. Regardless, I will likely be buying a 256GB Piano Black 7 Plus. 
I like the color, but not the scracthes it brings. If it's like the apple watch, I'll pass and go with the matte finish.
Wouldn't a Matt finish also scratch? I really think I will like the glossy piano black, I'm just not sure how scratches will be handled. I may just pick up a see through case for it.
Never said the matte is more scractch resistant. Just said if it's like the apple watch, I'll pass. My experience it seems like a softer metal that shows scratches easily.
It's a really nice color, I'm probably going for that one. Though if there was a blue one in that same shiny coating, it would be no comparison!
If it's the black from the Apple Watch I'll be happy, I'll get one, the glossy black would be nice. Apple don't normally add new colours to the number models, so I'm surprised.
Ming is the only one that ever said "Piano" Black. The rumor has been Space Black for a while, which would make far more sense. It's probably the same Space Black DLC coating that's on the current SS Watch, and the Space Gray option is also darker now to match the darker Space gray on the watch as well. My Space Black watch is still flawless and I bang it in to stuff all the time. I for one and stoked for a Space Black iPhone. It will be the first time since the iPhone 4S that I go without a case.
Actually, @onleaks said about 2 options about a month or so ago, mentioning that there were 2 black options, one being a space black Matt option and the other being a glossy piano black. There have also been leaks of stickers from test units.
Maybe they have the same source? I still think Space Black is the color they're referring to. Whatever it is, I hope its as durable as the SB watch. Fingers crossed til Wednesday!
From the leaks we've seen, I think there will be a Matt black that will replace the space grey option (that's the rumour) and the glossy option. Personally I will buy the glossy option.

I think the "matte" black is the new Space Gray. Like the Sport Watch Space Gray is almost black and is matte finish. Here's my wife's Space Gray Sport, my Space Black steel, and my Space Gray 6s. You can definitely see the difference between the two "Space Grays."

As long as they do a glossy black I'll be happy, that glossy black Apple Watch looks nice, to have that on an iPhone type finish would look great.
Prefer the matte black one.
