Are you sure you aren't confusing those dots with the new ambient light sensors?

Ok, I'm embarrassed (better now than in the Apple Store, I guess). I still have other marks, but when I saw these this morning I was like, oh heck no! You're right - they're the sensors. Thanks :)

ETA: and I think I just managed to get the other little marks I was seeing off of my display! I really wasn't looking forward to potentially exchanging and setting everything up again. Now I feel like I can enjoy my iPad!

How come it does not wobble when there's a camera sticking out? Is the iPad warped?

It wobbles only on a sub-atomic level because the case is made of that sh*t that Captain America uses.
No vibration, no bending and wobbling.

Can't wait to try Thor's Hammer on it.

This was a very surprising update. Coming from an Air 2 I was hesitant. Somehow this just feels like the most refined iPad yet.

The added speakers make a huge difference in the quality of the audio. Mine is in a silicone case which I love so I don't feel the vibration the way I did with the Air 2.

The anti-glare and True Tone screen make viewing incredibly comfortable. For the first time I don't feel like I'm staring into an LED. The colors just seem right. Calibration is great.

Finally speed. Somehow it feels like the improved processor makes up for any RAM issues. This is blazingly fast and smooth.

The iPad I've been waiting for. I think I will be selling my Mini 4 as this just hits all the right marks.

I was actually going to make a thread "I love my 9.7" iPad Pro" because I am extremely pleased with it. Moreso than I thought.
Thanks for your post. Are you going to put a video of the iPads (air2 and Pro) on YouTube? Would be nice to compare the speeds.
One question... when I played with the big Pro in the score I played Air Hockey Gold by Acceleroto that is installed on the demo units. When playing it felt like the thing you hit the puck with had a little bit of a delay and the red puck showed some ghosting... in my opinion more than on the air 2. Can you see if you see the same?

After a couple more days with the device, I have to say it's a conditional 9. I absolutely love it in every way, and it's very functional. I'm just deathly afraid of damaging it because of its bendability (look up on youtube)

Everything to some degree is bendable. Are you going to put it in your pocket? Prolly not. Throw it in a case if you haven't already done so and enjoy it.

I rated this an 8 in the Poll given the questions, but I love using it. It's not a matter of benchmarks but the intangibles behind the numbers. The way the colors naturally pop, and how viewing the screen barely stresses the eyes.

Not sure if I need the pencil or keyboard next, but i could see myself typing on it instead of dragging the laptop.

Unfortunately I cannot post a video or test that application because I sold my iPad Air 2. Sorry about that. :(

What you're describing about the app sounds very odd. Either that was an issue with the App that the developer needs to fix or the demo iPad was defective. That is not normal nor will you encounter that on many devices.

Did you own an Air 2? I put an Air 2 in a bag with 10 pounds of other textbooks and it's fine. (Even when I've dropped the bag). Yes it will bend, but it takes immense pressure or weight. If you're sitting on your iPad in a beanbag chair than it may bend because you're weight is pressing it down onto a malleable surface, but in normal or even normal accidents it will be fine.

I like it a lot, but I don't know if I want to keep it and sell my 13" Pro. I think I'll miss the bigger display too much.

Found some more marks on my display this morning. Two nearly identical circular dots in the corners. This one is definitely getting exchanged.
Those are the true tone sensors, dude.

*EDIT* Sorry, I see that you acknowledged as such later. Just wanted to point it out so you wouldn't head to the Apple store just for that!

10/10. Upgraded from an iPad 4th gen, this is like rocketing into the future.

Fastest iOS device I've ever used. Noticeably quicker than my 6s.
Speakers are unbelievable for a tablet. Easily the quality of a cheaper Bluetooth speaker.
Screen seems higher quality than my 4. Not sure how to explain it, but everything seems crisper and more colorful.
TouchID and Night Shift on an iPad are great.

Cons? Yeah, I paid an insane amount for an iPad plus the two case halves ($120 for a plastic/rubber case is pretty much just a middle finger to your customer base). Can't say I won't get my money's worth, though.

It is definitely the best iPad ever but I returned mine. For every day normal things (web, email, video), it isn't significantly better than my iPad Air 1. The pro is definitely faster but we are talking 2 or 3 seconds difference. Second, I loved and hated the screen. Half the time, true tone looked awesome and half the time, the screen seemed too warm looking (I prefer cooler than warmer). But when I turned off true tone, the screen is pretty comparable to what I currently have. Side by side, you can tell some differences but not enough to warrant purchasing it just for the screen.

When it came to resource intensive things, like a game, it was very impressive at how quickly it ran it. Xcom essentially had no load time. However, I don't find myself playing games very often on the iPad anymore because developers don't really make great games anymore, just freemium trash.

Again, it is definitely the best iPad ever but even coming from the Air 1, it just felt too much of a marginal upgrade based on what I use it for to justify paying that kind of money. I will hold onto my air for a little while longer but for those that have it, I hope you continue to enjoy it.

@austriak Great review and I completely agree.

No doubts that the iPP 9.7 is a sensational iPad...the best ever really!

But...if you already have a somewhat recent iPad, the very very steep upgrade costs definitely give one pause.

Now that I've had it a few days, I changed my vote. I really love it.

What do you love most, Alli?

You came from the same iPad a me, Rich ;).

Upgraded from mini 4. Everything is fantastic. Wish the iPad Pro was a little smaller though. I.e. Half way between current mini and pro 9.7 size

Thank you for this information. I just purchased Notability and it is exactly what I was looking for since getting my iPad pro 9.7 yesterday.
I love Notability. I find it works the best for me.
[doublepost=1459689439][/doublepost]I really love the new iPad Pro but after using it continuously for a couple of days, yesterday I had some apps shut down on me. Not sure what's going on - Friday was fine all day but started having the kick outs at least 4 or more times in different apps. I did a hard reset. I'm heading out for a business trip tomorrow so I'll have to wait until next weekend to have Apple check it out.

I voted a 9/10 on Friday but would like to amend that to a 10/10 after getting more use with it. Coming from an Air 1, this new iPad is noticably faster, I no longer have blank loaded safari tabs, the surround sound is spectacular, the camera is fantastic and focuses quickly, and I haven't had an eye strain headache in days (I think thanks to the true tone). Also, the extremely overpriced Apple case and cover give the machine a real luxury feel in your hands. I really didn't think this was going to be such a noticeable improvement but now I can't say enough good things about this new iPad!
