31 hours between charges - 9 hours screen on time. Pretty impressive jump from XS Max, but still not two full days for me.

Just upgraded from my XS Max to an 11 Pro Max and I don't think Im experiencing the same "amazing" battery like everyone else. Since iOS 13, I noticed my XS Max not getting the same performance and its looking to be the same for 11 Pro Max.

The phone is 3 days old and I've been averaging 1.5-2 hours of on screen time and ending my day around 60-70% battery.

Currently I'm at 51 minutes of on screen and at 88%, very very light usage. Any ideas of how to fix this?
Be sure to plug it in several night all night long as some downloads don’t happen unless plugged in. Normally give it 5-7 days to settle down before doing meaningful battery checks.

I have the Xʀ, but I think that it’s amazing how battery life has improved on iPhones. (Note: all numbers referenced here are my own results, it obviously varies in every single one of us. No obvious background usage is counted (no listening to music with the screen off)).
My first iPhone was the 5s. It got anywhere from 4.5 to 7 hours of usage (brightness, LTE or Wi-Fi, slightly varying usage). Then I upgraded to the 6s. Huge improvement, even if it wasn’t as great as the plus’ battery life that was being shared on here.
It was between 7 and 9 hours of usage. I found that the best improvement was with “heavier” use (LTE and higher brightness), as it didn’t drop to the honestly pretty horrible 4-5 hours my 5s got when pushed. It was slightly better when used lightly. (Let’s say, from around 7-7.5 on the 5s to 8-8.5).
Then I got the 7+. Massive improvement, 10-12 hours depending on usage. I finally had the battery life I wanted.
Now with the xr, it’s even better, I’m getting around 10.5 hours of usage with 40% left, meaning that it would probably be close to 15 hours with light use. That’s at least 3 hours better than the 7+ on iOS 10, possibly more.
I had more than enough battery life with the 7+ (I wouldn’t need more than that). I’m curious about how much battery life would I get with my usage on the Pro Max. I don’t think it would be a lot more, but definitely better. 17 hours?

Who you lying to I have iPhone 7 plus doing WhatsApp video call at minimum brightness drains by 20 percent for 30 minutes

This is on iOS 10... Newer versions have worse battery life. Every single number in there is with the device on its original version, and with my usage (which is pretty light and doesn’t involve WhatsApp video calls. They’re a battery killer).

I love how people act as if intensive things like live video calling or fornite should be easy on the battery.

How many hours do you think I’d get with my light usage, if I got 10-12 hours on the 7+ and 14-15 on the Xʀ?

Depends on your usage and what you’re doing...ok sure it still a few hours better than the XR

I know the 4-5 hours from the max is correct for my usage

It’s pretty simple. Whatever battery life you get on your current phone, tack on, at a minimum, another 25% at least for the Pro Max.

I hope this means HomePods will finally get the update with 13.2.

11 Pro users please feel free to add your thoughts. Is the Max THAT much more battery life? On paper it’s pretty big, 4K vs 3K.
I get 3 days of battery life on my 11 Pro. Like I would go for cardio for one and a half hours listening to music and the battery would only go down 7% that's insane!

11 Pro here, most active thread so I’ll just add this here. Max probably would get another 1-3 hours, maybe even more. This is for today. 16 hours on, 9 hours on screen time and at 10%. I will say it drains much faster when on LTE than on WiFi.

11 Pro Max - off charger for 14 hours and 5 hours of on-screen. 59% remaining. hard to ask for much more IMO.

Getting between 12-14 hours depending what I do on the phone
Some uses like music or phone calls take less power where as playing intense games will detract from usage time
One suggestion, deplete your battery till it shuts down at least once to calibrate it.
