I don't have screenshots of 14.6 anymore but from 14.6 to 14.7 RC, it felt significantly better. Unfortunately with the public only being available for around 3 hours, it is too early to tell but I am thinking it should be as good as RC, if not better.

I can tell you that since updating to 14.7 thus far its been back to being as great as it was before 14.6. I've had it running for 2 hours now and the phone has only dropped 1% in that time and I've placed calls and have been using it randomly. Hopefully this fixes that issue a lot of us were having.

Subscribing to this thread, I want to read each opinion and experience about battery life on 14.7 before I finally update all my devices.

I always laughed when people claimed that battery life was affected by a release. Then i got 14.6 and it was noticeable on my 12pro.
It is easy to do when people complain within 24 hours of installing but the reality is that a "Drain" can be caused by a slew of issues. Of course, iOS 14.6 was just a steaming pile of poop, haha.

iPhone 12 here that I’ve only had for two weeks. I upgraded it straight to 14.6 and use it for 3-4 hours every day and it’s never been below 50% when I come to charge it at night.

Once I’ve installed 14.7 I’ll let you know if things get any better or worse, but I’m having a pretty great experience on 14.6 although I have nothing to compare it to.

My old 8 on the other hand seemed to be terrible with 14.6. And that had a new battery fitted by Apple in March 2021.

14.6 already been worse than 14.5. Would be great if anyone can compare 14.7 vs 14.5.

Just a heads up guys, I know it is still early but running my phone for 2 hours and 13 minutes of screen on time and 53 minutes of screen off time, I only have lost 21% battery so far. This also includes the software download and update from 14.7RC to 14.7 public on my 12 Pro. So far, this looks amazing!

Still worse. iPhone is very warm and draining and draining
Can you please screenshot what your battery activity looks like? Any chance you have an airtag, or multiple? I am curious to see what is keeping your CPU active. Have you tried restarting?

Updated my 11 Pro Max about 2 hours ago now so will monitor over the next few days, in the earlier days of 14.6 I did not see any bad battery life but for some reason last week my 11PM was absolutely burning through its battery in the last few days of last week but went back to normal this week.

Keen to see how 14.7 goes.

For me the 14.6 battery sucking culprit was "Exposure Notifications", which was quite clear from the battery health feature. As soon as I disabled it I was back to only needing to charge my phone every couple of days.

Mine certainly seems better. The battery graph is definitely not as steep!

Still getting a lot of random location (i.e. every time I unlock)

Rubbish. Phone gets hot for no reason. Battery life has been getting worse with each update, particularly after 14.5.
Hi Steve,

Any chance you can post your battery usage statistics? Sometimes they are inconsistent but sometimes it actually can help point out an issue.
