My 12.9” iPad Pro is slightly uneven at the LTE antenna line. I checked using a steel scale. The bend is smaller than Apple’s 400 micron tolerance so it is within their stated specifications.

Wouldn’t have been able to verify without a steel scale. It’s definitely much less of a bend than other pictures in this thread, which seem to be bent around the microphone port.

I’ve owned (3) this is how all of them are. All of mine were cellular too, my latest 11” being the 1TB version is the exact same way. They look straight, lay perfectly flat face down. Staring down the edge is the only real way to hardly notice this. Although, I’d say my current 1TB is honestly just about perfect “best I’ve seen”. Anyways, any bending on the side long ways is most likely user induced.

The bending threads make scary reading. Putting me off buying. But how many people with the new IPPs are not experiencing this? I realize that any thread on this subject is not a scientific survey. However, it would be encouraging if a lot of people reported zero problems in this regard.
Well, I can serve as one example. I've never experienced anything of the kind. On the other hand, I've never been stupid as to subject my iPad to any extreme stress test just to see what might happen. My theory is treat it nicely and it'll do the same for you (and there's no harm in treating it to a protective outer case either). We get along just fine. Unless you plan on using it under very unsual conditions you should go ahead and take the plunge. I. m. h. o. Apple knocked it out of the park with this one.

No bend yet on my iPad Pro 12.9 Wi-Fi, 256GB - bought last weekend with the stylus - and was working lovely - however I am now super paranoid about the thing after reading about 'bendie ipads' on Thurs this week, despite it being in a case, and have now stopped using it as I am worried I might bend it in some way, being a bit heavy handed at times - have replaced it in the box and wrapping, and reverted back to using my old Gen2 iPad....

I can't return it, company I bought from does not do refunds, so checked with them - and as I have their insurance cover, as well as the 3 year warranty, I am 'covered' in case of anything like that (and they have had no returns at all for bends, was first time they had even heard about the issue)...however, it's really soured my experience of this new iPad and am going to be super worried each time I use it in case I bend the thing...which is a shame as it's a stunning bit of kit!

So for now, it will remain switched off and in the box until I decide if I will keep it, and get a huge heavy duty case, or sell it on to get rid of - which as it's a great thing, I am loath to do but really do not want the headache of worrying about I might bend it...torn on this one

This is the silliest thing I’ve ever read.. If it is not bent now, then it won’t bend.

Unless your prone to standing or sitting on your iPad, then keep it in the box.

It is sad what these threads have made people believe..

This poor guy has put his iPad in the box, because he thinks it’s as strong as a sheet of paper!

I mean no offense whatsoever, but I’ve owned (3) of them. They will not bend overtime. I’d use it and enjoy it, or sell it and somebody else will surely enjoy it for you.

Exactly. This whole bend thing is way overblown. I have used my 2018 in the exact capacity I have used every iPad and to fine.

You shouldn’t let the fear-mongering on the Internet bother you. The only confirmed issue is that cellular iPad pros are likely to exhibit the bend issue out of the box

There is no clear evidence that the new iPad pros are more likely to bend. If a bent iPad Pro is your number 1 consideration, then get the WiFi variant, which you already have.

No offence taken And yes, agree entirely, probably me being very silly - as an Apple product user since the Apple iPhone 3 and a 2nd Gen iPad that has been a great product and have enjoyed using totally, and with the WIfi version New pro - I should really know better...however, with all the threads and internet clutter on this it's made me rather paranoid about the thing - mainly because I know how heavy handed I can be with devices at times despite being in a solid case...I am waiting on a thicker case now, so when that turns up will see how I go with it - and thank you for your input here and your own experience of the new iPad - it's good to hear that this may not be as problematic as first appears

No issues with my 11” iPad Pro with 4g. No case except for the Smart Keyboard, and I regularly detach it when teaching in the classroom and for home use. I don’t baby my iPad and it wanted to bend, it would have done so by now.

Two months in with my iPad Pro 11 WiFi and not a bend in sight. The only protection I use is the Smart Keyboard Folio. I’ve tossed it casually in my bag and also carried it around with some other heavy items bumping up against it, and no issues so far. It doesn’t feel any less sturdy than the previous models, IMO.

So far, so good. I've laid the 12.9 on flat surfaces (with the camera bump off the side of the desk, countertop, etc), and there's no wobble when tapping around the surface at various points. I can't see a bend, either. I'm looking for a sturdy travel case because I do worry about the iPad travelling in a bag with just the Smart Keyboard Folio attached.
I use this sleeve for my 12.9/folio/pencil, i also throw in the usb c cable....

Ya'll just won't let this die. Goor lord.

Seriously. I just got one last weekend and I forgot all about this issue. And I'm not about to look. My iPad Pro runs great, looks terrific. Don't care in the slightest if it's bent by just a tiny little bit.

I don't know if mine is bent or not. I also have no desire to check. If it's bent, I can't tell from normal use and I choose not to obsess over it. It appears to be flat to my naked eye, and that's good enough for me.

For the record, I keep mine in a case. It gets tossed in my backpack every day (sitting up against my MacBook Pro), that gets tossed in my car, then it gets tossed on the floor when I get to work or back home. It's the same thing I did with my old iPad for years without issue. And the new one is holding up just fine. As is the laptop which is about 5 years old now.

Interesting comparison. For a while I was hauling a cheap Android tablet (an LG tablet I believe that I got for free from AT&T for something) back and forth just like my iPad. It didn't have a case, but beyond that, I treated it pretty much the same. It lasted 1 month before the screen broke in my backpack from being transported from home to work. As it was an AT&T freebie in the first place, I just trashed it. It wasn't worth the effort to fix. But I found it interesting that it couldn't hold up to the same abuse my other tablets go through.
