Had to return mine due to imperfections on the rear of the device, and personally didn’t like the border shadow at all… will wait now until WWDC before I decide between that and a MacBook…
You’re expecting WWDC to fix the border shadow you didn’t like at all….. okaaaaay.

No not at all, I mean in terms of capability of the iPad Pro and which models have the ability of that capability. As I am seeing many discounts on the 2020 model.

I was happy with it until I had to return it because the screen was messed up. Now I’m waiting at least two more weeks without one and I’m not happy about it. I just want my freaking iPad. You can’t even spend $1,000+ and get a non-defective product these days apparently.
I’ve yet to get a defective product from Apple, so I guess you can. Your personal experience aside, of course.

Hyperbole much?

Yes. I made a conscious choice to upgrade my device (10.5-inch) because it is a tool that I knew would help me do very specific tasks. If I didn’t have a good reason to own it, I wouldn’t have bought it. I am not hinging on WWDC because my iPad is useful to me now.

I chose maybe... right now I am not hyped about it - yes I am sure it will be fantastic....

But I ordered maybe the wrong size??? My daughter is getting my 2018 11". So right now, I have 2 -1tb - 12.9" 2018 & 2021, 11" 2018 and iPad mini 5 (I am hoping for a pro mini LOL).... But if I exchange it for the 11", I will get a 256gb, since my use for the 11" is different from the 12.9" - graphic design....

I also am in the midst of doing a major cleaning of our house - so I have not spent a LOT of time working with it yet. The other day I added my email accounts, but have not done any art stuff on it yet....

SO deciding if I want 2 12.9's again.... (I had a 2015 - my older daughter is buying that one from me).... My eyesight is getting a bit worse, so the bigger one might be better. Last night I also played a game on 2018, that I do on my 11" - wow the bigger size was really nice!!!

I love the iPad. I will still be taking it in to apple store on saturday to make sure that my iPad doesn’t have the blooming that I think I have seen. It’s a weird type. It’s almost like some days blooming is obvious and some days dont see it at all. if the geek bench guys don’t see the blooming, then I’m keeping it.. I’ll be picking up some new accessories while there.

Leaning to keeping it. I purchased from Costco so I have 3 months (or longer to decide). The m1 is overkill for iPadOS but the way the iPad marketing chief dodged all of Brian Tong’s questions related to WWDC makes me think Apple has something big coming at least for iPad.

mini-led has been working great. Screen is top notch with black levels. Haven’t tried too much HDR content, yet. Rather deal with some blooming than grey blacks.

Honestly at this point apple just makes iPadOS a modified os11.
Sure improvements coming and maybe something big. Have to wait until at least September/October to realize.

Might be hard to see full effect of blooming in the store if during daylight and front is outside. A lot of the stores are very bright.

Definitely keeping it. I traded in my 11 inch iPad Pro 2018 as I wanted the bigger screen size, first and foremost. The mini-LED display, M1 chip, 8 GB RAM, etc. are all icing on the cake for me. I can get all my work done on my set up of an iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil. I love the versatility of being able to get work done on it while at a moment's notice, grab it off the Magic Keyboard for leisure/entertainment consumption, effortlessly going back and forth. (I don't use a cover/case with the iPad when it's off the Magic Keyboard.)

Hard to not be happy when you have the M1 beast, best display on a tablet, 8gb ram, this blooming nonsense is way over blown, people in Australia are kicking themselves that they believed all these clickbait photos and videos about blooming.

This is their wait time now ? Guess people must really like this fake, non issue blooming, selling like hotcakes ?

I wouldnt be surprised if they actually have a dark room in the back without letting us know. I will be asking them regardless and see what they say. Never hurts to ask :) I have not seen any store that doesn’t have a separate room for office, lunchroom that can close door and turn light off.

If you run into Tim Cook at the apple store, can you please tell him to hurry up with Face ID, mini led and promotion for the new MacBooks ?

FaceID on MacBooks and iMacs seem like such a natural fit. I dunno why they haven't implemented it yet. Is there a limitation perhaps for multi-user support?

Apparently the lids on these MacBooks aren’t thick enough for Face ID, no excuse for not adding promotion, guessing they’re saving some features for next year. ?

Dream MacBook Pro, Face ID, mini led, pro motion and MagSafe ??

If not MacBooks, then surely the iMacs are thick enough?

Here
Yes, I am extremely happy with my 12.9” iPad Pro.

My 10.5” iPad Pro from 2017 served me well, but after 4 years it had a scratched display with the dreaded white spot and a considerable drop in battery life. I agonized over the 11” vs 12.9” debate ever since the 2018 iPads came out and firmly believed that I’d upgrade to the 11”. Of course my tech nerdy self got the better of me for the display and after using my 10.5” iPad Pro affixed to construction paper approximating the size of the larger model for a week I decided to go with the larger model.

After using it for about 9 days I am extremely pleased. It’s absolutely bigger and heavier than the 11” model and it is a bit more cumbersome, but not as much as I thought; it’s surprisingly usable in all my normal tablet-y things and the Magic Keyboard is much nicer than the old smart folio. The display is fantastic and it’s noticeably snappier than my old model, but the performance difference is not night and day aside from the additional RAM (no refreshes yet).

I was a bit on the fence the first few days, but I really love the M1 12.9.

GOgqLxp.jpg

The MiniLED is fantastic. Because of the deeper blacks and dimming zone watching Movie and TV (even non HDR) is incredible. Having deep blacks in things like calendar, Safari and other apps is a nice plus. Even with the occasional light blooming, I can’t go back to the 11” or older iPad Pros.

Also as a productivity device, I just enjoy getting work done it more than my m1 MBA (Even with the quirks of iPad OS). Now I just need to decided if I stick with the 256GB unit I picked up or I move up to the 512 and make this my main computing device.

So far I've been happy. My only gripe is I use it a lot for Netflix, and a lot of movies have almost double black bars when I'm watching them. I wish the resolution could switch or adapt to 4k 16:9 for movie watching when in landscape somehow. Otherwise, I've been enjoying it.

The magic keyboard left click doesn't work consistently in apps either, bugs the crap out of me.

I also have a list in my mind of features I'd love to have to replace my laptop entirely, but judging it based on my current use and what it can do today, Netflix is my biggest issue.

I was just at the store for another item and wanted to look at the xdr display. I asked the rep to see what hdr content had loaded and he had to go get someone else that was only going to start YouTube video. Lame Effort. Guess used to selling to the masses.
