Six 3G 20GB models (hard drives kept going bad, thankfully they all died inside their warranties), and one 30GB 5G model which I've had since 2005, no problems.

The Modern-day RONCO

I can't help but notice the quasi-philosophical taglines - allegedly quotes by Jobs - the Apple kids place after their posts. They seem to be deep thoughts - I suppose they are to a 20-something - but in fact, say nothing!

It's clear that Jobs & Co. have done their very best to persuade young people to buy Apple garbage, as anyone who actually has to use and rely on computers to get work done are older than 20-something.

Jobs & Co. are the RONCO of the 21st century ... " it slices, it dices, it'll work until the warranty expires!" Hell, even the Ginsu Knives had a lifetime warranty and they probably didn't cost any more to produce, market, distribute, and sell, than the almighty Jobs & Co.'s latest-crap-of-the-quarter.

Hey, I caught a bluegill just last month with my Popeil Pocket Fisherman! I've had it for nearly 25 years and it still reels 'em in! Of course the Red Wiggers had a lot to do with it -- they're The Cadillac of Worms, don't ya know. :apple:

I've had 19 iPods plus an iTunes phone and an iPhone.

Gave 4 of the iPods away, 1st and 2nd gen nanos. I miss the 2nd genners, I think they may be the niftiest so far. The solid state drive and the elegant shape! They look like an expensive chocolate sample in a foil wrap.

I have bought 16 iPods of various sorts for gifts. It's amazing how many of the recipients have independently said to me that iPod changed their lives. I feel that way too.

All my iPods still work. The 20Gb one from 2002 is on its second batt. The original U2 one started making clicking noises a couple years ago. I got a U2 video model just in case the clicks on the other were signs of impending hard drive death. But so far the older one's still hanging in there and gets a fair amount of use every week in the car and the kitchen. I love that black and red combination.

I even still like the sturdy candybar that is the original iTunes phone. I make a new playlist for it every couple months, and laugh at how angry so many of us were when we found out we could only put 100 songs on it. Sometimes I have trouble concentrating to pick out another 20 songs I might really want on it for a particular cycle now. Maybe we do just like complaining about stuff.

Well I gotta say two good things about that iTunes ROKR-E1 phone. The call quality has been outstanding. And, the battery cover still works perfectly after all this time, compared to a bunch of other cell phones I'd like to smash with a hammer for having such flimsy and unnecessarily complex battery cover implementations (Cn u spl duct tape).

Now I crave a purple shuffle but I can't justify it so I'm resisting.

I have had for iPods,
-1st gen 4gb Green mini
-4gb Green 2nd gen Nano
-8gb Touch
-1gb silver shuffle

I have had and still have only 2 iPod's:
-year 2003, iPod G3 with 40GB.
-year 2006, iPod nano G2 with 8GB.

Both are still working as they should. Only the battery of the G3 is dying. I currently only use it plugged in its dock and power connector and connected to a 2.1 sound system.

I also thought of buying a new iPod (touch maybe) but I will wait until my nano dies (won't happen to soon as it seems)

I have 3: an ipod mini, nano (2g) and touch (32gb). I might pick up a 3G nano, to use at the gym, I'm just debating whether or not I can justify it. LOL. (I know the shuffle would make more sense since it's so much cheaper and I'm mostly going to be using it at the gym but I really think I'd miss the screen and the ability to easily select a specific song.)

Two for me. a 32gb Ipod touch and a 30gb ipod video. I was trying to drive my video to my sister but she hasn't picked it up, so I'll probably give it to my mom

- 4gig iPod Mini (gave to a friend and still kicking)
- went through three different 60gig videos, all had harddrive problems
- 80gig iPod Classic, it was extremely buggy and CoverFlow sucked so I sold it
- now using my 4gig iPhone as my iPod and loving it.

black 30 gb 5g (video)-stolen today! the best ipod no problems watsoever! bought it Jan 07

silver 4 gb ipod mini-sold

well i plan on buying a nano, shuffle, or touch but not classic bad memories from my stolen 5g ipod video! :(

I've had 4:
-iPod Mini 4GB 1G (got it in 2004 for christmas - couldn't use it because its screen got cracked)
-iPod 30GB 5G (got it for my bday in 2006 but was stolen a year later)
-iPod Nano 2GB Silver 2G (Was my mom's, but she outgrew it and got a 5G iPod, so she gave it to me to use until I got one of my own)
-iPod touch 16GB (got it for this christmas, still in use)

I've had somewhat bad luck with iPods so I want to keep my touch as long as possible.

Second iPod = 5th gen 30gb white

Current iPod = 32 gb iPod touch

November 2005:

I think my next one will be a 32GB touch, unless Apple start selling the iPhone on Pay As You Go.

Just got my 3rd one.

1. First gen. iPod shuffle 512MB
2. Second gen. iPod nano 2GB
3. Second gen. iPod nano 8GB

5

i've had these:

1.Silver mini 4gb (death by mystery problem, got a new one thhe same day)
2.5G 30GB(death by hard drive malfunction, replaced)
3.5G 30GB(death by head headphone jack problems,replaced)
4.5G 30GB(wasn't reallv dead, but there was a corrupted file on it, got a new one same day)
5.iPod Classic 80GB(alive and well?)

I've had... Four, I think.

First up was an original U2 iPod. Monochrome, it was a hand-me-down from my older brother after he got an iPod Photo. Inevitably, it got full of dust and died.

Second was a green first-gen mini, 4GB. Tough little thing, it broke after two years when it too got full of sand/dust.

Then I inherited my older-brothers iPod Photo. Still got it, actually. Use this as my main player. It holds all my music, roughly 25GB of it. (Most of this is long, long, long dance mixes; Up to an hour long.)

Then, a few months back, came my 3G Nano, 4GB. It was a present off my parents after losing a load of weight. (Dropped from 120Kg to 70Kg.)

And thats about it. I'm not eyeing up any more; I simply have no need for a new one.

I've had three. My Touch is my newest addition, and my iPod Classic 5G is my main one for the longest time, My first Classic 5G was fine, but then I smashed the screen, and Apple sent me a brand new one in less than two days :)

1st - 60Gb White 5G iPod Video
2nd - 16Gb iPod Touch, bought after updates announced, but didnt have it pre-loaded, got discount, bought apps same day :D

1st - 5gb Windows First Gen - Still have it!
2nd - 512mb Gen 1 Shuffle - Beaten to hell, but still use it at the gym.
3rd - 1gb Gen 1 Nano - Sold to my friend, who then smashed it the first day.
4th - 30gb Gen 5.5 - Stolen from my apartment :(
5th - 2gb Gen 2 Nano - My all purpose pocket music player.
(6th) - 4gb iPhone - Although I never use any music functionality on it
