The house is up to 8.
To re-re-reply:
First gen 512 MB shuffle (Sold to the friend I bought the next one from, after purchase of the nano; he gave it to his mom as a Christmas present.)
30 GB 3G (bought from the friend I sold my shuffle to; soon after I showed my wife how to use it, it became her iPod. I have replaced the battery, but it still lives almost exclusively in a speaker-dock.)
2 GB White first gen nano (Bought after my wife claimed the full-size iPod, because the shuffle alone wasn't cutting it for me. Unfortunately, she discovered Nike+, so this one became hers, too.)
8 GB iPhone (Yes, I waited in line on day 1. This will likely be replaced with a 3G iPhone when it comes out, and this iPhone will be either passed down to my wife, or to my 13 year old stepson. (Gah, kids these days. He is the ONLY kid in his class without a cell phone.))
Motorola SLVR L7 (Bought for my wife when we switched to AT&T, and before the nano got passed to her. She uses it for listening to audiobooks at work.)
Third generation 1 GB shuffle, that my 3 year old daughter uses to listen to classical music. This was a freebie giveaway from some contest.
My stepson also has a 6 GB second-generation mini, and a 30 GB Video iPod, both of which were bought used with his own money.
If you count both of my stepson's, and both phones, then our house is up to 8 that have been owned, 7 currently in the house.
